Is the new discount affecting resale prices?

We were just at SSR and they said the currant price was 104.00 per point:mad:

ucancallmeflower,

The $94 for SSR and $96 for AKV price is an incentive price they should have given you. I was offered this toward the end of the tour when we sat down to look at the numbers. Basically it is $8 discount.

Hope this helps...

Yes it's a thread on this forum. Usually you'll find it on the front page but if not ust search ROFR thread. Basically, when people have managed to buy at a low price they add details to the thread. Also they add details if they didn't manage to get through. It's so people know how low they can bid before Disney ROFR's.

I'd say it is actually more of a price history than just low prices, as there are some very high prices in there too and even as seller you can gauge what people are willing to pay right now. It can also help you to NOT bid too low, so you get to keep your contract instead of having it ROFR'd. Sometimes the sellers are actually looking to unload their points quickly, and are asking for such a low price it is up to the BUYER to raise the price (sad but true). I am grateful the thread exists, as instead of asking for 2 or 3 $'s per point off the asking price, I only asked for $1 per point. Good for the seller, and still great for me (as I finally passed ROFR). :thumbsup2

Well it's good that you realise that. A guy has just tried to buy my WLV contract off me, but he wanted it for $78 a point and not pay dues and closing. He is not an existing member, and I tried to explain that it was not a good idea as it would not go through, but I think he thought I was ripping him off.

And I could easily have accepted his offer knowing that Disney would ROFR it, because the maintenance on the remaining dues and closing would only have been not much more than £300 difference to me.

I think people like that will be looking for a deal for a long time and never join DVC.
