Just wondering if the Narnia exhibit is still around. We're going in September. Will it still be there?

TIA

Mary

:guilty: yes it is, but i thought i was really boring! It is basically a very long preview of the movie nothing special

You will be much better off if it is gone. It was a terrible waste of time. I'll tell you what you're missing:

You stand in the line for half an hour. Then you go into the pre-show room where everyone is stuffed into a small space with the wardrobe from the movie in front of you. Eventually the door opens and everyone walks thru and into another room which is made to look like the "entry" area of Narnia where the streetlight is. There is a movie screen in the room which then shows about a 10 minute "preview" of the "coming" movie. Then there is an actress up above in the rafters who plays the white witch. She says something and then disappears. Then another door opens to a hallway where there are about 4 throwaway props from the movie. By this time everyone just wants out and walks right by. That's it!!! What a waste.

I'm a Narnia fan and out of my entire Disney experience that had to be the most disappointing. You walk through the wardrobe (the only cool thing), the witch stature on the wall gives an intro, then you all stand and watch an extended movie trailer before leaving. You can see some of the props from the movie on the way out but none are too exciting. As much as I hate to say this, it really isn't worth your time. :guilty:

Well, I'll give another view, we're big fans of the books and the movie and we did see this on our Jan trip. We were back in late June/early July and went again, waited about 5 mins in line.

You do enter a room and wait in front of the wardrobe doors, they open and you enter a larger room that appears to have snowcovered tree and a large screen and Lantern Waste (if you read the books) AKA the lampost is there as well.

The white witch appears soon (real actress, not a statue) and gives a little speech (more like a warning) followed by a long trailer of the movie. Afterwards you pass by the door to Mr. Tumnus' house on the right and into a small area with some props, costumes and drawings/set illustrations. Be sure to notice the trees again before you leave that area.

We did like it, but we do really like the books/movie as I said. I would not wait more than 20 mins or so to tour this but if you can hit it on a not-so-busy day I'd take the time.

HTH!

I had heard months ago that this might be changed over to coincide with the release of Dead Mans Chest. I guess that never happened. At least it would of been a change.

I was disappointed, but part of the problem was that I was not that informed, I knew it was going to be something of a walk through, but I though it would be a little in depth. I felt that it was more of an advertisment for the movie (when we went the DVD was coming out in the next week or two) than an informative or entertaining walk through. The other problem is we waited 20 minutes to go in. I would not wait more than 5 minutes to go in unless you are a really big fan of the books.(Walking through the wadrobe is a little cool though)

The last I read is that it will be open unti late September and then closed to be redone as a Santa Claus 3 which should open in late October in time for that movie which opens in November.

The Narnia exhibit is definitely open at least into December 2006. I'm attending a private event there.

Don't waste your time! This, IMO, was not like Disney at all. Wish we would have known before our trip what it was about because we wouldn't have wasted our time.

I had read how disappointed people were of the exhibit, but I had to check it out for myself. I have to agree....... very disappointing...and I would not stand in line.

My family liked it, but are HUGE Narnia fans. We saw the movie on opening night at the 3 story theater in DTD. Cool. Sorry - off track - we liked the "exhibit" but I'd say DON'T wait very long in line for it. The movie trailer is pretty lame.

Here's what we liked - walking through the wardrobe, looking around "Narnia", seeing "the" lampost, and the white witches wand on display at the end (That was VERY cool).

I think it would be MUCH better without the movie trailer.

If you have time and there's no wait, sure, walk through it, and don't expect much. If you don't want to "waste" time, skip it.

This exhibit had a short wait in June while we
were at MGM , the only good thing was the short wait.

The wardrobe is neat and so is the White Witch,
but we were hoping for more!!!

If you are into the movie and have read the book, I would give it a try. Like previous posters...I wouldn't wait more than 10 minutes or so, but seeing the wardrobe and the props was neat for the kids. Its worth a break from the sun too!

Thanks everyone! We saw it in December, and we want to see it again.

BTW, I can't wait for The Santa Clause 3!! Woo Hoo!!! Our family likes those movies. :)
