Is the extra cost worth it? Do you get the feel of the holiday without going to this extra event? Thanks!

Del

I enjoyed the Christmas party a lot the first two times I experienced this event. I opted not to attend this year. You get the "feel" for the holiday at all of the parks, not just at the party.

i would say try it for yourself and see what it is like, people differ some do and some don't we are going for the first time and i am excited

We'll be going to MVMCP for the first time this year, but we really did get the feel of the holidays our last December trip without going to MVMCP.

Our whole extended family of 16 really did enjoy this. The parade and shows are very good and the snow is really cool too. The CM's were very festive and the park looks great plus it was really neat to have the shorter lines for attractions.

I say "go for it!"

PS- As fun as MVMCP is, we like MNSSHP better. (That's the Halloween party for those of you who are "acronym challenged!")

Yes!!! In every way shape and form of the word! If only for the fact that you can ride splash mountain 13 times in a row during that last hour when everyone else goes home and there's no one else in line.

We really enjoyed the party. We went on Nov. 30. It was more crowded than I was expecting, but the lines for rides were nonexistent. We rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 4 times and didn't even have to get off. They just let us stay on, because no one was in line. The crowds for the Twas the Night Before Christmas show were HUGE. Get there very early to get a seat. Other than that, not bad. See the second parade, not the first, and get a curbside seat at least 1/2 hour ahead. Have a great trip!!

"How about the weather?" We've been to 70 degree MVMCP's and 40 degree MVMCP's. Nighttime temps vary so much in Central Florida in December.

For us, it's worth it. We don't go for the attractions (although we do get in quite a few during the party.) We go to see the Christmas Parade (twice), the special fireworks, 'Twas the Night, Celebrate the Season and to wander through the snow on Main Street. We're never at WDW later than Dec 15, so we won't get a chance to see these things without going to the Party. The once a year expense is very much worth it to us.

THis year is my first time at MVMCP, but I have been to the Halloween one twice. You cannot beat MK at night with their special lighting. It is awesome what they do for these parties. For the Christmas one you get a free picture of your family mailed to you, free hot chocolate and cookies, no lines for rides, special holiday shows and fireworks and parade, and it SNOWS. The parks will be completely decorated and feel like the holidays during the day, but the party will just be too cool to miss in my opinion. Definitely worth the money.

Love the xmas party and to me it doesn't feel like a Christmas trip without it. The wishes fireworks are special for the party and very cool!! Its neat to see the "snow" down main street, even if I do get enough of it at home.

You can do a lot of the rides without any wait and it really is just special and nice. I won't be going during the Christmas season next year and on my way home I realized I am going to miss it very much.

I went to MVMCP last year and loved it! You'll definitely get a feel for the holidays even if you don't go to the party since the parks and resorts are all decorated. But the party is just so much fun ... special fireworks, parade, free cookies and hot chocolate and there are hardly any lines for the rides!

Apologies ahead of time for being childish, but

IT SNOWS!!!!!! :goodvibes

It just makes me so excited!!! Gotta go see the snow!!
:jumping1:

I was debating this also and I've decided to skip it, at least this year. I figured we'd have enough xmas atmosphere with all the decorations up already. As for the free cookies and hot chocolate, I could do without paying almost $40 for it. I'll just save it for an extra souvenir or a nice sit down at Epcot. We'll already be there that day, so we didn't think we needed a couple of more hours of the same rides. As for the snow, I've had enough of that.

YES, YES, we went 12/2 for first time and stayed an extra night 12/5 to go again,, Great time but could be questionable if you use a park pass or length of stay pass for the same day,, we didn't go to any other parks either day and got in MK at 4-5 pm , stayed till 12:30-1:00 AM SO IT WAS WELL WORTH IT, really didn't do any rides just party,, pay attention to the schedule & you'll be able to see most things twice.. it snows on only main street so go there for the parade as it really makes it different w/ little Mickey's falling... Had a Great TIME................

For those of you who are considering next year's, I have changed my opinion since going! It depends on when you go. We went on the 17th, the last day and stayed through the next week. Everything we did at the party, we were able to do the next week for free. The parade, the snow, the shows, everything. When we attended the Halloween party in the past, it was fun because everything was special. The things you do at that party, you can only do at that party. I was very disappointed because we paid extra to do things everyone else was able to do for free.

On the other side, however, if you are going BEFORE they switch over to the Christmas parties and activities (like this year, to leave before the 18th) it would be worth it to do all the holiday stuff. For us it was disappointing. :guilty:

I was skeptical last year at paying the extra $100+ for our family to attend, but I'd have to say it was worth it. There's nothing like being in the MK after dark, and to be there to see the snow falling on Main Street and to watch the Christmas parade, there's just that little extra added something that you don't get during "regular" hours. Of course there's Wishes as well.

If I had the opportunity to do it again, I'd probably spring for the extra $$.

We go in the beginning of December and that is the only way to get the extra's that the xmas party provide.

For us, it is sooo worth it.
