is the line cutting really that bad at DLP?

just getting worried about this - i don't want to be arguing with people every five minutes.

any tips on how to stop line cutting?

just make sure that you 'spread' out wide between the barriers - so that no people can cut in?

Very infrequently I've had some teenage groups try to cut in front.
Tell them politely but firmly and they will not do it again

When I was in DLP last March, I didn't really notice anyone cutting in line--but then again, I was alone--not too many people bothered me. However, several people, not cast members, but just French people, were quite rude to me when I spoke--I have a distinct Southern accent. I know that not all French people are like that, and I know that all Europeans aren't like that--I lived in London (yay for Little Venice!) for three months last year and had a great time--but I was a little surprised that people were unkind because of my accent.

I was at DLP 5 years ago and while I didn't see anyone actually cut in line, there was little respect for one's personal space. People (usually kids and teens) would be bumping up into our backs frequently and occasionally trying to get around in front of us. It really did annoy me and my kids.

I am feeling a bit guilty now because I mentioned queuing on another post. Honestly, it isn't that bad. On both our trips to DLP we haven't encountered any linecutting for rides - in fact the only times we have encountered this have been in the US, a few times at Busch Gardens and once at MK and the family who tried to push in at MK were British! shame on them You are more likely to notice lack of queuing when you meet characters wandering around (not the official photo spots) or getting on the shuttle bus. The only time we saw someone try to push in on an official character photo spot queue they were made to go to the back by the CM.

So please don't worry, just enjoy your holiday.

I only once saw someone line-cut. A young spanish guy in his 20's queue jumped by jumping over the barrier into the fastpass line on BTM then he pushed his way all the way down to the platform and jumped infront of a family to get into a carriage. I was so annoyed that I actually shouted at him . Natrually he did not even flinch and everyonelse stared at me like I was a loony!!!

My one and only experience. Would agree with the comment on personal space though

We have never experienced people trying to cut in on the line in DLRP. We saw more of this in WDW with South American teenagers and families etc.

The strangest queueing phenomenon in DLRP is the fastpass queueing....even though they have a fastpass, a lot of park guests will go the the fastpass line way before their allocated time, and stand in line there, blocking the way for those with active fastpasses. It's really bizarre. I have known of people standing in the fastpass line half an hour ahead of their allocated fastpass entry time...sort of defeats the fastpass objective .

The only other thing we encountered was people muscling in on your personal space when you are watching a parade. We found we had to spread out a bit in our parade viewing space, to allow for adjustment when our space was invaded. We have even had people muscle in between our family members.

Not really. However I do remember one time when someone did push infront on pirates of the carribean !!! That is probably the worst ride for que cutting so beware !!!! There is also a fast pass door in the que for space mountain 2 and a group of teenagers took advantage of the fact that there were no staff watching the doors at that point and went through it . Luckily though they were caught and kicked off the ride!!! Serves them right! !!!

It does happen and I am sorry for some peoples attitude that you encountered. Hope you still had a great time.

I did experience a little queue jumping when I was there. Nothing blatant but folk would 'accidentally' lose sight of their kiddies who would conveniently have forced their way to the front allowing parents to follow. Of course no one is going to stand in a child's way when they want to push forwards to see and then you can't really complain when the rest of the family follow. This seemed particularly bad on the Paddlesteamers I found.

I'm with Nik in that most of the queue jumping I've seen at DLP (which isn't THAT much, but it is a little more than I've seen in the States), seems to come from parents chasing down kids who have run ahead in the queue - whether by accident or design I couldn't say, but it happened more than once to us, so I did start to get a bit suscpicious.

Pirates is also the worst ride for this happening because the queue is so wide - you can't even stretch out and block the whole path unless you've got at least four in your party at times.

The only other time I've seen it is when the queues are aren't full, but the chain link fences are still up (like there have been long lines for this ride earlier in the day). Some people (i.e. me) will still follow the full route of the queue, others will duck under every barrier and try to get ahead of them that way. One family did that to us on Buzz this year and looked really smug about it (why bother - it was just a one place advantage!), but we ended up overtaking them when they paused in line to take a series of photos. Swings and roundabouts I guess!

I can't even imagine being unkind to someone for their accent! I hope I don't run into any of that because when I speak not only will they hear my accent but also a few choice words in English if I experience rudeness!! The concept of not liking someone just because they are from somewhere else in the world just seems so behind the times.

I am not sure what it si about accents for the french. I was born in the uk but have lived in australia all my adult life so my accent is not "normal" In DLP i was asked if i was american and when i said australian they were really warm and friendly,

queue jumping was not a problem as we were only there for one day and in january, very cold but that is our long summer break here and we were in italy england and paris for 6 weeks total
