Is the itinerary doable?

Hi everyone, I've been a longtime lurker but this is my first post. My DH, DS and I will be in Disneyworld from Aug 30-Sep 6. We arrive in the afternoon. It's a last minute trip, we were there this past Nov. so we are only hitting some highlites this time around. We want to concentrate on MK and Epcot and leave one day for Universal so is it possible to do MGM and AK both in one day if we only plan to visit the following attractions:

AK - (Kali River Rapids, Tough to be a Bug and Camp Mickey)
MGM (TOT, RnR, Muppets3D, Movie Ride, B&B, Lil Mermaid & Playhouse Disney)

I figured we'd do these parks on Labor Day begining with AK for EMH.

Sorry if this post is too long, it's actually my first time posting in any message board ever! so I may not know all the proper etiquette.

Thanks for any help you can give me>

Welcome to the DIS, Rosered!! It's nice to have you posting instead of just lurking ;)

I think this can be done, although you'll have a busy day. Be sure to be at AK at opening, and when you arrive at MGM, get FastPasses as soon as possible for TOT and RnRC. You might want to check Steve Soares' website for the showtimes for B&TB; sometimes it's hard to see this show since it is only performed five times a day. Here's a link if you need it:

Enjoy your trip !!

Yes it's possible, but a long day! Also, leave plenty of time to get from one park to the other, geting directly between parks can be an adventure in waiting (and waiting and waiting...). You'll need to stay late at MGM (unless you get lucky with wait times), you may want to stick it out for Fantasia if you're all not too tired...

I think it's doable, but you'll definitely be running around! The only snag you might hit would be with the 3 shows. Donna is right about being at AK at opening.
Have fun:D

Thank you all for your advice. I forgot to mention we will be renting a car so we don't have to worry about waiting for buses. Also as I reread my original post I realized I said I was going with my DH and DS it should read DH and DD. I don't have any sons but do have a beautiful 5 year old daughter who is becoming as addicted to all things disney as I am.

Sorry guess I have to get use to using the abbreviations.

Thanks again, I will try this and if we can't finish MGM that day we'll probably go back to another day, we may also cut out RnR and TOT, my daughter won't do either and my husband will not do ToT although I look forward to seeing how they updated it if I don't chicken out of riding it by myself!

We went on KRR last week in the afternoon and had a 65 minute wait. We met a nice family in line, so the time passed. However, when we got off it wad 85 minutes wait. I think you will find the same long waits at ToT and RnRC. If you don't mind waiting (and the fast passes may be gone by the time you can get one), you might be able to do this, except for the shows. They only have limited show times for some of them. The Great Movie Ride was over an hour wait.

Don't forget that you will get wet on KRR and you may get soaked. You might need to change clothes before your next park.

Are Kali and Camp Mickey open for EMH? I know ITTBAB is, but I think the others open later. Anyone know for sure?

Kali doesn't open until 9 or 10. Camp Minnie Mickey also isn't open for EMH. All you have at AK is Discovery Island trails, ITTBAB, Pangani Forest, Tree of Life and Safari.

I think going to AK emh for just Kali is a waste -- plus you'll be soaked at 8:30 a.m. I would go to MGM for ee. You should have time to ride both the coaster and the tower before regular opening. Then try to get in the first Lil Mermaid show. If this isn't possible, Fast Pass it and go do Great Movie Ride. Muppets is easy to get in. You'll probably have a wait at either GMR or Playhouse Disney, though. Don't forget to do Fast Pass (you may want to do something twice!). Unless you don't get there early enough (by 7:45 at the latest) or something is broken, you'll finish your MGM stuff by lunchtime. Then head over to AK so you get there about two hours before it closes. Save Kali for last -- as long as you're in line by closing time, you'll get to ride. Go change your clothes, then have a fun evening somewhere!
