Is the Hidden Mickey Field Guide any good?

I saw on the DIS Store site a book called "Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Wald Disney World's Best Kept Secrets". Has any one bought and used it? If so, is it any good? Is it worth getting? How thorough/accurate/complete is it? 400 hidden Mickeys does not seem like a real whole lot. I would think there are more than that!

I am always looking for new things for Disney Fanatic DH, and when I saw this I this. I thought it would be something he really would like, but I don't want to bother with it if it is really not that good.

Soooooo, I am enlisting the help of the many Disney Professionals who frequent the Dis boards to let me know if the book is worth the money.

I just got it for DW for our upcoming trip. It is neat as it assigns a point value to the hidden Mickey's so you can make it a game and it also does them in a scavenger hunt. We are going to try and find as many as we can this trip and get photos, may even put them up on our webpage. It's definitely worth the $10 or so.

I picked it up at the gift shop at the BCV this year. Spotting Hidden Mickeys have become a fun part of our trips, although we don't spend a lot of time hunting them down. I didn't do the tour as suggested in the book, but would pick a ride or area we were heading to and look to the book for clues. And you can look up Hidden Mickeys for rides while you're waiting in line. I think it's worth the small investment, but then I do suffer from Disneyitis...

My DD loves this book. Couldn't pry it out of her hands all through the trip. It really is lots of fun.

Thanks for everyones input! It is really appreciated. Think I am going to get the book! DH loves anything Disney, and is constantly finding, (or creating) hidden mickeys. He even has the DS & DH looking/finding them........everywhere. At my brothers wedding reception, DH and his sister created and took pictures of MANY hidden mickeys.......ashtrays, glasses, spoons, sugar bowls......you name it, they made it into a hidden mickey!

I think he will love the book.

Also, does anyone know if the resorts are included in the book or is it just the 4 major parks?

I just ordered this book from Amazon and received it today. It looks really cool! DH is the one who wants to hunt for the hidden mickeys. Here's my question, the book is set up as a scavenger hunt and it kind of lays out a touring plan for you if you follow the scavenger hunt.....Has anybody ever used the scavenger hunt/touring plan and how did it work?

I'm not sure we'd follow it to the letter but it might be a fun way to do things....what do you think? Any experts done this?

I like the Hidden Mickeys book, and I wasn't even a fan of Hidden Mickeys!

I picked up the book last year in search of a little "WDW Fix", and brought it with me to WDW. I didn't use it in the parks per se, but I recalled some of the ones he pointed out and was able to spot them while in line, on rides, etc.

He includes not only the parks, but the resorts, etc. as well. I know people on my site have said the've done the hunts and had a blast doing them - a nice way to add a little something extra to your trip.

(It was actually Steve's book that led me to the Intrepid Traveler, who eneded up publishing my trivia book! But I assure you that would have given the same review regardless! I really enjoyed the HM book!!)

My publisher, The Intrepid Traveler, puts out the book. I know that it is available in bookstores, as well as online retailers like Amazon.com, as well as their web site, www.TheOtherOrlando.com.

I wasn't really a hidden Mickeys fan, but I enjoy the book and now look for them whenever I go.
