What if I just wear earplugs? I think the light through the upper park view rooms would anoy me more than noise. :scared1:
plus i'm a major cheepscate ($115 difference for the week).

Freeway noise is only bad in a couple locations. Bldg. 1, upper floors on the freeway side and upper floors away from the Lobby are noisiest. Also, some rooms in Bldg 2 closest to the freeway wall can be noisy.

Our favorite rooms at the HoJo are in Bldg. 2 by the quiet pool. They are cheaper than the premium rooms and are just as large but in a guaranteed quiet location.

If you are concerned about the noise, make sure you place your request to be away from the freeway with the res agent at the HoJo. They will do their best to accomodate. Taking earplugs with you is always a good idea too! :)

I toured HoJo in January and asked my contact there to let me visit the noisiest room in the hotel. It was overlooking the freeway and I could hear a constant, low-level hum of traffic in the room. Personally I think I could have slept through it without earplugs, and I'm pretty noise-sensitive.

There aren't a lot of rooms right next to the freeway, and the hotel avoids assigning them except when the hotel is completely booked solid. Also, they are looking into installing a double-door system for those rooms that would help cut out the noise.

For me, the noise was really bad. But that's cuz I was assigned a room LITERALLY NEXT to the Freeway.

I am guessing that if you request one that is really far away from the freeway..it may not be that bad. But it is really noticeable if you are stuck with a room anywhere near it.

we have a room booked for 5 nights in december in building #2 facing the pool.

I stayed at the HOJO in October of 2005. I felt the highway noise was pretty bad. It didn't keep me from sleeping, though. I am usually pretty beat by the end of a day at Disneyland. My memory of that and the rather outdated bathroom has made me reluctant to rebook there. It wasn't a terrible place, but I was really only staying there because all Disney properties were booked. I admit to being a picky hotel-stayer.
:)

I bought that Entertainment book for Orange County. I hope I don't get stuck in one of the noisy rooms because of the discount:sad2:

The Ent. Rate won't "stick" you in a bad room location. If you place a request with the reservation agent to be in a quiet room, far away from freeway, they will do their best to accommodate your request.

I NEVER get treated any different than any other guest, and I always use the Ent. Rate at the HoJo.

I felt the highway noise was pretty bad also. I don't know about other buildings but i won't risk it again.
