Is the food at Napa Rose tiny?

We want to take my parents here for dinner when we're in DLR. We don't mind the cost, but I am wondering how small the portions are.

For example, could you just order a main course and be satisfied? Or do you need to order an appetizer, a salad, and a main course?

I say this as someone who does not eat large portions (a lean cuisine is plenty for me for lunch). That said, I am not a huge fan of places that put a dice-sized cube of fish in the center of a large white plate. I am trying to look up pictures of their food, but I haven't found a ton, so I though I'd try asking.

Thank you!

DH ordered the filet and had some mashed potatoes. You also get a bread basket with an assortment of breads at the beginning of the meal. He ordered dessert and was stuffed!

Bread always does the trick! :rotfl:

I had duck and DD had beef short ribs, and we thought the portions were more than adequate. I did have a salad and she had soup, too, but still, we were far too full to consider having dessert.

I know Yellow Mickey Ponchos goes often, and she's stated that she and her DH finally learned to just order a couple of appetizers and split an entree so they won't be too dang full when they're done!

So I think from all I've heard, and my one experience, the portions are great. Enjoy! It's a wonderful experience! Do the chef's counter!

Thank you for all the helpful replies. The existence of the bread basket is the best news ever!

The portions are smallish, but just right for a meal. HOWEVER, desserts ARE tiny! We got two desserts to split between three of us, and they were each tiny little bite-sized things. We cracked up!

It's a lovely restaurant, though, and a real treat to eat at.
