Is the Fantasmic Dinner Package Worth It?

We're considering doing the RBT dinner for Fantasmic so we have a reserved place to sit. I thought that would be easier with my son. I've read reviews on the dinners and was wondering if you all thought it was really worth it. My dad is concerned if the food will be worth the price.

I was unaware of a dining package connected to Fantasmic. Where can I find information on this? :confused3 :tink:

I did the Blue Bayou package and was pleased. (I know it's not the one you're looking at, but it's another option.) The food was the regular menu food. My seat was awesome! It wasn't really that much more expensive than a regular dinner there would be. I was happy I did it. I chose that package because I knew I was going to eat dinner at Blue Bayou on that day already--it was worth the few extra dollars to get a decent seat for Fantasmic! at the same time.

As for your specific questions, the location for RBT also looked pretty darn good; it's just to the side of the Blue Bayou seating (which is pretty much dead center). So, doing the package would get you a good seat.

To me, "worth the price" is relative. Most of the food in the parks is probably not "worth the price" by other standards. So the value isn't necessarily in the food. Are you going to eat an overpriced dinner in the parks anyway? Is it worth it to not have to stand in a less-than-ideal location? Or to have to worry about getting a FP at some earlier point in the day? If the answer to those questions is "yes," then it's probably worth it, even if the food isn't great.

If you're that worried about the food, then consider the Blue Bayou. I think it's another $19 per person, but the ambiance is better and the food I had was quite good.

So it really is a SEAT and not just a place to stand / sit on pavement with a souvenir cushion?

For me worth it is to not stand around until the show starts with a 3 yr old. For me that price is worth it alone. I might look at the Blue Bayou menu vs RBT and weigh the options. Never eaten there but have wanted to.

Thanks for the review. I just need a place to sit with my son. Do you know what they do for stroller parking for the reserved spots?

This link was in the Fantasmic! SUPER thread.

It lists the Fantasmic! packages to include the cost for each option.

I'll be taking my grandkids and a DIL in March. A total of 5 people over the age of 10. RBT and BB packages are out of my budget.

I'm hoping someone can give info on Aladdin's Oasis packageand FP or even the Non-Meal FP's for Fantasmic!

Thanks Geemo! It's kind of out of my budget too, but I think I might just splurge and treat my dad to Blue Bayou. We were going to do it in May, but POTC was closed and I didn't feel it would be the same without the ride going. Plus, like I said, it's worth it to me to not have to wrangle a 3 yr old in a crowd until the show starts and then him not being able to even see it anyway.

Thank you thatgrljme this sounds like a great option for seeing Fantasmic! :thumbsup2 :tink:

No problem tinkcollector. The last time I saw it I was in high school, and now have a 3 yr old that will not for the life of him sit and wait for ANYTHING. I think it would be well worth it to pay for dinner to have a reserved spot to sit in, and I've never eaten at Blue Bayou, so I think we'll change our reservations to that.

I had the steak at RBT for fantasmic seating.

My seat for the show was dead center Mickey. Perfect viewing and we sat on the ground. It wasn't super comfortable on my back but we walked in 5 min before the show so I wasn't complaining!

The food was good! I ate at BB later that weekend and wasn't blown away by the meal in comparison. It was also good but I wasn't unhappy in anyway with RBT.

Steak, salad and apple pie. "Worth" it to me because I hate standing for the shows or camping out hours in advance.

Thanks longhorns2! Glad to hear positive reviews on everything, not just the food.

I'm curious to know about stroller parking for the reserved seating though. Do you happen to know how that works?

No idea. I was there without kiddos and didn't pay attention to that part. Sorry!

I heard that F! was not on during Halloween Time due to the Screamin' Fireworks show. We're there from Sunday night-Thursday night and we're planning on doing the Halloween thing (trick or treat) at least one night, and WOC one night, and an early night the night before we leave, but for the other night, will F! be shown or should we just try for WOC again?

To me, it just doesn't seem like it's worth it. For my family of 5, it would cost about $150 at RBT. Kinda pricey when I can just pull a FP for F! and still see the show. Will it be in the center? No. Do I have a chance at the front area if I get there early? Maybe. Will I spend that kind of money when I have a 3yo daughter who goes into full panic mode when the dragon appears? I don't see that happening. I can see haw the BB might be worth it if you're going there anyway and the cushion is something you'd like. But $42 for adults and $23 for kids at RBT???? Nope. For half that, I can go to Big Thunder Ranch where the food is waaaayyyy better and still pull a FP.
