I was going to make the exact same suggestion. The vantage point from Frontierland is just fine for those who aren't necessarily parade enthusiasts and aren't searching for an unobstructed view. We aren't big on parades ourselves, but we did find we enjoyed this particular one even from a comfortable distance.
What time would you have to be in Frontierland for a 9pm parade?
Unfortunately, there is only one day that we could possibly see it in the 1st/2nd week of October- MK is open until 12 that night. Not sure if it will be possible to do due to a late ADR (if I can move it up) and get to MK in time.
About 8:45- 9PM. And, I'm talking about DEEP into Frontierland... past Country Bears.
(Just know that you will not be able to see "Celebrate the Magic" (Castle projection show) from there. But, you can enjoy Wishes fireworks from the "Wooden Bridge" I've highlighted in purple on the map below.)
The parade at the Halloween party is incredible. Not to be missed! The electrical parade at MK (or whatever it's official name is) is not very good, IMO. We saw it once and that was more than enough! No plans to see it this trip.
I'm not a parade person. My most recent trip was #6 for me and was the first time I ever watched the MSEP. I LOVED it. So much so that I changed my ringtone to the music on my way home the next day LOL I didn't stake out a spot super early (my daughter and I were at dinner at the Plaza and barely made it to an opening before the lights went out) We weren't up front but close enough to see most of the parade. If you've never seen it, it's worth it at least once. Just about everything is worth seeing/doing at least once
It's usually the only parade we see, seems better because of the lights. Liberty Square by Hall of Presidents is a good place to see it without wait being too long although that complicates things for Celebrate The Magic/Wishes but we still always manage to find a decent spot after MSEP ends. We walked past 2nd MSEP on the other walkway this time (saw the 1st)
I love parades and this is one you can miss. I don't think it's the parade itself, all the lights are pretty cool. It's the music, it is so repetitive, just grates on your nerves. But, don't miss Festival of Fantasy, it is amazing!!!
We see it every year, in fact it's usually the only parade I see every year! Especially since they killed the ones at AK and HS. Although we seen Festival of Fantasy Parade this year and that was well worth it even though it's like the hottest part of the day.
If you are not Parade People--and you've not seen any of the others, then _I_ would not make plans to see it. I am not a Parade Person either, but I really enjoy it.
