Is the Electrical Parade not to be missed?

We are not big parade people (us or the kids). Never bothered seeing any of the parades at DL.
We will see the parade during the Halloween party.

Is it worth rescheduling some things around to see the Electrical Parade?

Thanks!

It's worth checking it out. Since you are not big parade people, maybe just don't spend a lot of time staking out a spot and waiting. If you don't mind standing or having a couple rows of people in front of you, you can easily catch it at the last minute.

I thought it would be old fashioned and it wasn't on my radar at all this past year. We happened to catch it as we made our way down Main Street, and we loved it! My son was totally captivated, it was well done, and really something to see. Next trip I'll know better and try to see more. Its a classic show but the technology is bright and seamless, it doesn't feel old fashioned.

That said, once would be enough for a trip for me (vs Wishes, which seems a lot of folks view multiple times on their trips). I wouldn't change a ton of set plans/ADRs to see it, but it can be easy to catch one evening.

Eh...we are not parade people - the only parade we watch on purpose is the Halloween parade. I'd never go out of my way to see the Electrical Parade. Lots of people love it, though.

Thanks everyone!

It looks like there is just one evening we would be able to walk over and catch it- and it's a night that MK is opened until midnight. So I am sure it will be packed.

What time can we get there just to catch some of it a few rows back?
Where is a good place to watch from?
Thanks!

One time last Dec I was shopping in the Liberty Square Christmas Shop and didn't even know it was coming until I heard the music. I was able to step outside and catch it from a few rows back. In general, I think Frontierland tends to be less crowded than Main St and then you have easier access back to the rides.

Others may be able to help you with this because I am not sure, but if it is a night with 2 parades, I believe the parade may start at different ends of the park which may also affect where you'd prefer to watch.

My planner says anywhere on main street about hour or so before go time. She says it is a MUST SEE we are catching 2 our 1st day including this one. :)

If you are not Parade People--and you've not seen any of the others, then _I_ would not make plans to see it. I am not a Parade Person either, but I really enjoy it.

ACK!!! NO NO NO NO NO!!!

*Any* season you need to stake out a claim an hour in advance--MINIMUM. During peak seasons, 90 minutes.

We aren't parade people. We can miss it....last time we were there we did stop to watch literally as it got to us (kids wanted to go to a certain store on main street but we couldn't go across street until parade was over). We had no trouble seeing it. It was early June. I would never go out of my way to see it and would never stake out a spot for an hour because it wouldn't hurt my feelings if I couldn't find one. However, a lot of people will definitely disagree with me.

If I had to pick one thing at Magic Kingdom to suggest someone experience, its the Main Street Electrical Parade. The last time I saw it was 1990. Have been back a few times since then but it was unavailable for a while (they replaced it with Spectro Magic) or we would be at the park on MNSSHP nights. This year, I bought park hoppers for the first time so I can see it again. It is the most magical, grand thing you will ever see (I wasn't a parade person either).

Its not just the parade. Its the music too. The music is so unique and you'll have goosebumps on your arms, I promise. You can youtube it to get a feel for it, but the videos pale in comparison to actually -being- there.

If you don't want to wait for an hour plus, then 1) see it in Frontierland and/or 2) see the second showing (if there are 2 that day).

It's really worth taking time to see if you never have.

I'm not a parade person and would skip it if you aren't into parades. Why wait to get your good spot and deal with the crowds? I only go if someone in my family wants to. It's known to be a classic and people who like parades love this one. It's the one all other Disney parades are compared to. // I'd love never to see a Disney parade again, though. lol.

I think it's worth it to see it once. I would never go out of my way to see it though. IF we're in the park and IF we're not busy, then we'll catch it. My 5 year olds LOVE it! We have watched it more than once from the outside of the big Disney store facing the train station. ENJOY!

I was going to make the exact same suggestion. The vantage point from Frontierland is just fine for those who aren't necessarily parade enthusiasts and aren't searching for an unobstructed view. We aren't big on parades ourselves, but we did find we enjoyed this particular one even from a comfortable distance.

It's wonderful! Dazzling. We loved it! But just so people know, on a crowd level 8 day, we didn't have any problem finding a good viewing spot without waiting. They warn you well enough in advance that it's coming. We were in the hub area. We weren't sitting on the curb but we were standing right behind seated ppl and had a great view. We watched it on 2 different nights, once the earlier parade and once the later (even easier to find a good spot). I can't wait to see it again.

Yep, we are Frontierland viewing people too and we are not parade people but I love the Electrical Parade.

I agree! It's completely delightful.
