From what I have been reading the CSR is more like a deluxe resort than a moderate. They have a beauty salon, Spa, etc....What else do they have that the other mods don't? :Pinkbounc

I have finally stayed at every Mod resort and this one is my favorite!!!! I would say it is like a deluxe. I know some deluxes have an additonal form of transportation to a park, but I think that is the only thing missing.

Are you thinking about staying there?

We just stayed at CSR for Easter Week. Our first impression was that it was much nicer than POR where we have stayed before. We stayed in the Ranchos 7B and we were right next to the quiet pool (we only booked a standard room so that was a plus!). The resort was very pretty and we did take advantage of the spa. The restaurant is very good and the Pepper Market's food was good too. Our one complaint is that the resort is very big and by the end of the week we dreaded walking to El Centro. Also, although the Pepper Market's food was very good, the service was slow and it seemed to me that they could have used more help. On the up side, they accepted the Dining My Way at the Pepper Market and we saved alot of money!
Overall, we loved it, we just didn't love how far away everything was and the slowness at the Pepper Market.
I would definately stay there again.

Have not stayed at CSR but only viewed the lobby areas and ate at Pepper Market. They have the Pepper Market, which is like a sit down food court and also have a sit-down restaurant. However, the room corridors are all outside entry like the other moderates. And the convention area also makes it have somewhat more of a business traveler feel to it.

LOL, no, definately not more like a deluxe. Ugh..it is a moderate through and through.

CSR has more amenities than any other moderate, no shared transportation, the best pool of all the mods, biggest hottub on WDW property, better food court, a spa, a gym and much more. It has many of these amenities because it is a convention resort. I stay at the Cont and CSR is much better IMO. The only thing it doesn't have is the interior hallways

I didn't really care for my stay at CSR. It was nice to have the non-shared buses, but didn't like having to cross the parking lot to get to them. I wouldn't call it a deluxe. I personally also felt the food at the ASMU was better than Pepper Market. Of course, Disney deluxes don't generally have lasrge food courts either. CSR has a loyal following, and also a number of people who don't understand that loyal following (like me).

Hi Buzz2001,

Did you mean any other Deluxe or Moderate?

WOW!!! Lots of opinions! A lot of you mention how far it is away from El Centro, is this like CBR? We stayed there last summer and walked so far away from the food court. This is something that we didn't want to do again. However, I do like the idea of a spa! Has anyone taken advantage of what the Spa has to offer? What were the prices? Is there more info about the Spa? It looks beautiful, especially the Casitas. Would love more info about CSR. It just seems so big and far away from everything, need more info to talk me into it. Those CSR experts out there, please give me more info!

My dd16 & I & my dsis29 went to WDW in Feb & stayed there (we havce stayed at CBR & POR) TH eone thing that we really didn't like at CSR was Pepper market & how they make you wait in line to get a table & then get a ticket that you have your food punched on. We have stayed at the ohter two & you could walk right in & pick your own talbe after you have gotten your food. The morning we went there it was a long linie, so I think that is what really turned us off, but like I said it was really a small thing, but my dd said she never wanted to stay there again! (you know how dramatic teens can be!) We may stay there again, but since we LOVE CBR & POR, I dont really think it will be any time soon!

IMHO CBR seemed much bigger and a much longer walk to the food court. I guess it depends on where your room is. We stayed at CSR on our trip last May and we loved it. We were in the cabanas and it was only a short walk to the food court, and we didn't have to walk across a parking lot to get to the bus stop like someone mentioned.

Again, IMHO CSR is more like a deluxe resort because it has a convention center and more amenities for the convention goers. I liked CBR, but I liked CSR better. I have never stayed at POR, but would like to someday. My only worry with POR is that they share the bus with POFQ so I have this fear that I would have to wait a long time for a bus. :moped: I am crazy like that though...i don't like waiting for the bus  It's probably not a problem at POR, but I liked knowing that CSR had its own bus service.

I liked the set-up of the pepper market. Sometimes it took a little while to get our food, but I liked being able to watch them make it. It didn't feel as much like a cafeteria i guess as some of the other food courts. The food was good, but expensive...but hey, its Disney, the food is expensive

Hope this helps a little :wizard:

We love love love CSR! My kids love the pool and the Pepper Market is top notch. We have some food allergies in our family and have found that the wonderful CMs at the Pepper Market will go out of their way to accomodate special food requests (try THAT at another "food court").

Yes the resort is spread out - probably the only drawback - but you can choose to be close to the pool or the restaurants.

Good luck! You'll love it there!

CSR surrounds a 15 acre lake and CBR surrounds a 45 acre lake. It is less than one mile to walk around the entire resort.

I would call it a "light" deluxe as it is not quite as good as the deluxes but IMO better than the other mods, but it does still have outside corridors (which we really don't like) and no balconies. We have stayed there about 4 times and never had a long walk to the buses, pools, or food court. We have had longer walks at some of the deluxes we have stayed at. The busses have been some of the best that we have encountered so far.

I am the just like a moderate variety here. The big issue I have with rooms is darkness(I find it depressing) I don't mean decor I mean natural lighting. These rooms are DARK. I did think the pool was nice and the landscaping is a bump above the average moderate. I think it feels like a motel..but I am normally a deluxe hotel person so I am biased.

I join the minoirty. I really don't like the resort. I find it confusing and to be honest when it's 100 degrees outside do you really want to stay in a resort that is themed like a desert.

After reading the MANY posts with the varying opinions, DH and I have decided to stay at CSR on our next trip. We've visited this resort three times and eaten at Maya Grill (a favorite!) each time, so we are slightly familiar with the layout of the resort. We LOVE the pool and I'm looking forward to staying at this resort.
At the top of this screen click on the STICKY: WDW Resort FAQ and Information Thread. Then click on Coronado Springs. Every question you might have is answered there.

My two cents...CSR is an awesome resort. Whether it is like a deluxe is up to the guest that stays there. It is what it is and it is awesome!

I agree. Our family loves CSR. The kids love the Dig Site. If its 100º in Fl, it won't matter what resort you stay at.

Well said. When we took my nephew who is a very picky eater, he had no problem finding things to enjoy at the Pepper Market.
