Is the CRT really worth it?

If you have never been to the Castle, GO! I think everyone should eat there at least once. It is incredibly pricey for breakfast, (I had the cold breakfast and paid $40 for basicly a bowl of yogurt with granola), but the overall experience was magical. My daughter is 7 and we loved it!

We did CRT & Akershus for breakfast & 1900PF dinner. I would do CRT once, just for the experience. I thought the food was fine & from the video, pics, & my memory, DD loved the bacon! We did have better character interaction here than at Akershus (nothing bad at Akershus), Belle & Ariel being the best. DD has our picture with Cinderella in her room now.

I'd do it once. It was worth it to me for the experience & watching the video makes me tear up a year later.

If you've never done it - then I say do it, or at least try it once.

DD had her 6th B-day there and it was great -- she loved it.

Yes it’s expensive and the food is okay (not horrible or anything close to that) - but that being said - if you're open to enjoying the experience of watching your daughter have one awestruck moment of joy after another, then I would definitely say Yes Do It! ... And isn't that what Disney is all about?

While Park Fare and Akershus have good food and character interaction, my DD (6) loves CRT. I think there's just something about eating in the castle. Before each trip I ask her what she wants to do and everytime the first thing she tells me is to eat in the castle

Went there for dinner on our honeymoon...loved the food and the atmosphere...it's a special experience. Not having any children I can't speak on if your daughter will like it but I would have loved it at that age...or any age ha!!

We have been twice before and are going again for breakfast on our upcoming trip in June. The first time we went our daughter was 8 and it was perfect! We went again when she was 14 because she wanted to remember that feeling of being a little girl and loving the caslte and the princesses. She asked to go again because it is just one of her favorite memories and going back to the castle just "takes her back" to being a little girl. Our whole family enjoys it. GO!

We went last year for lunch. The kids had a great time. I thought the food was good. I was expecting much worse. We aren't doing it again this year, but only because I want to try some other places.

I would say it is most definitely NOT worth it. Not for my family anyway!! We had lunch her a few years ago and it was our worst Disney dining experience ever. We paid OOP and the meal was close to $200 for the 4 of us. First I was upset that for a $200 meal you had to share an appetizer, you didn't get any bread with your meal, and only had one choice for dessert. (all these things may have changed since then????) It was also our most rushed character meal ever. we were literally in and out in just over 35 minutes. The characters and the servers acted like all they cared about was how fast they could get us out of there! NOT worth the price!!! We however had a fabulous meal at Akershus!!!!

We had breakfast there in January with ds8 and dd6 and really enjoyed it!

It really is a special feeling eating in the castle. We paid oop. It really isn't that unreasonable because
1). It's all you care to eat
2). You get the photo package
3). Tip is included
4). It's the castle

I've heard breakfast is the best meal but we have done dinner there twice.

In 2009 the food was like that of a quick service restaurant. The experience was decent but the Fairy Godmother was annoying.


In 2010 it was a completely different experience! The food was so much better! The menu was more upscale (not very much so but better than a quick service restaurant) and I enjoyed whatever it was I had. We also got to take pictures with lots of the princesses who actually know a lot about their characters. My wife and I had an in depth discussion with The Little Mermaid on how she was a princess. She debated with us in a fun way and was pulling things out of her character's history that I had forgotten completely. It was a lot of fun.

We however wont be doing it this year just because of the cost. We chose to do the Dine with an Imagineer instead.

If you haven't done it before DO IT! It's worth it at least once, especially now that it has improved.

Personally I think it's worth it to do it once just for the experience for the kids of dining in the castle. Otherwise the food isn't great (we had breakfast there in 2005 and it was the worst meal we had the entire week) and the Akershus princess dining experiences are less crowded and less hectic.

DD and i had a girls-only breakfast there one year. she really wasn't into princesses, but we wanted to eat at the castle. the food was fine--not worth the money you pay. and i really felt like we were rushed through. it was fine to do it once, but we won't do it again.
