Is the Common Garage in Boston safe to park in at night?

I'm going to see Mama Mia(again!!) Thursday night with my girlfriend. The last few times I have been to Boston I have parked in that garage. I'm not sure how safe it is at night though for 2 women to be walking in the Common-someone was killed there last week!!!
I'm thinking it may be better to park in one of the open lots near the Wang.

If it were me, I'd park in one of the lots nearby. They are open and safe!! Have fun!!!!!!!!!

The garage right next to the Wang (attached to the hospital) is very safe at night, especially right after a show when everyone is going in there together. The common garage is a little far to walk at night, in my opinion.

I should have been more specific. The show is at the Colonial which is right across from the Common. I don't know of any lots right around there so I thought if I parked over near the Wang I could walked the few blocks over to the Colonial-figure there would be more "traffic" which would make it safer.

Kim,

I would suggest coming in early and parking while it is still light out, then exit towards the Common with the crowds. There is always a lot of foot traffic right after a show so you should be okay. Stick with your friend and be very alert to your surroundings.

I think the killing happened in the Common, deeper into the park where you can't really see from along the edges (where the street is visible). I think you'll be okay if you just stick together and don't go way deep into the park. I'm pretty sure the garage is on the edge (near the street).

Have a great time!

We parked there for the Sun matinee last week. We felt completely safe during the day. When we got to our car at around 5PM, the garage was practically deserted. There were some scary people on the Common too. I don't know how close the Wang is, but if it seems more safe to you, I might park there.
