I was hoping to get some input. I am finalizing our ADRs for our October trip and I just realized that Brown Derby is 2 credits. We have never been and I am sure it is good. But is it worth 2 DDP credits?

It's VERY good. A must do for us. We have tried various menu items and have never been disappointed. Plus, we love the atmosphere.

No. We have enjoyed it there in the past, but I would not spend 2TS for it when I could go to CG or Jiko with those credits. We've stopped going to Brown Derby now that they no longer make the grapefruit cake fresh on site.

No. Although we enjoy Brown Derby, it's not a good value on the dining plan. We pay OOP.

The Brown Derby is consistent with other 2TS options from a quality and service perspective and is better than some of those options. I do not believe that the food at CG is better, although the view is. While I have not been to Jiko, I suspect I'd have the same opinion as ElizabethB based on reviews of people who have similar dining tastes as I do. Never having tried the grapefruit cake, I haven't had my experience ruined by the change in its preparation.

I am paying OOP for the Brown Derby as to me it is not a good use of your credits.

As far as dollar amount goes - just look at the menu and see if it would be worth double what 2 restaurants that are 1 credit would be.
The food and service are very good. We do the deluxe plan, so we don't worry about the credits, as we only do 2 restaurants a day.
I would say that if you don't want to pay out of pocket for dining (and are on the regular plan) and would like 1 TS restaurant a day, then no it wouldn't exactly be worth it in that situation.
If you paid OOP for this (or not dining plan), then yes it is worth the money.

We've eaten there twice. Once on the DP and had a fantastic meal. We went this past Feb and paid cash and were disappointed. We also went to California Grill on that trip and paid cash. That one is definitely worth 2 credits in my opinion!

That's what I did a few months ago. I went there for lunch, and I really only wanted soup and a salad (not the Cobb, but a very nice salad I enjoyed). It was not a good use of 2 TS on that.

We love Brown Derby and feel that it is definitely worth 2TS. The service is always fabulous and so is the food. I ahd the fillet at Le Cellier and the fillet at BD last year, nad vastly preferred the BD fillet. DH had the grilled fish and really enjoyed it as well. We try to get in BD every year. I was lucky enough to get a F! package this year even with booking only 4 months out.

In my opinion, it isn't. But maybe that depends on your style and the likes of those in your party. The kids (one on the "adult" menu) we not impressed.

I will say that I really liked the interior and the feel of the place. But for us, it's not a place that we're eager to repeat. Maybe sometime when it's just DH & I we'll be back.

Been many times...there is no way it is worth 2 credits on the dining plan! If I were going to throw my points away like that (if you do the math it is throwing it away, which I admit we have done) it would be for one of the resort signature dining options!

Not for me and DW. I like the place, but I don't consider it a good value at 2 credits.

We've been there twice and really enjoyed the Cobb Salad and the grapefruit cake. On our first visit, my beef filet was delicious. On my second visit, the filet may as well have been dog food. It was really bad and I probably would only get the Cobb Salad and grapefruit cake. But yeah, the Cobb is worth 2 credits, IMO.

DS18 and I went for the F! dining package back in May...OOP

We just did NOT enjoy the food and I REALLY wanted to ! (and I TEND to look at things on the positive side but was so REALLY disappointed)

(I have pics if you would like for me to post)

I'm hoping we just ordered wrong....OR perhaps it just was a bad day... but crazy as it sounds... I enjoyed the Taste of the food we've had at H&V over the past years BETTER than HBD.... go figure...

I WILL try it again.....would like to try the Imagineers lunch and I believe this is the only place to do so...

Hugs,
Mary

When we went we were a party of 9 and all of us would say yes.. My SIL and I were doing all the planning. We both wanted to try the Brown Derby and booked it even after reading the reviews here saying it was just OK. So we really didn't have high expectations..We were pleasantly surprised. everything was very good. We didn't tell anyone else in our party about what we read, and walking out they were all talking about how good everything was.
