I am already booked for Dolphin, April 2004 at the teacher's discount ($129). I'm still learning the ropes. I've been waiting for the 2004 rates to come out. None of the packages really seem worth it, even the Princess add on because my husband wants us to stay around that price. We'd have to downgrade, I believe, in order to use that extra. Now, I'm exploring the AP rates and seeing that we are traveling during many of the deluxes "regular season" and that the rates are still higher than the Dolphin. Is that right? I don't think we'll be traveling back a second time that year. I'd like not to downgrade, so am I right that my teacher's rate at the dolphin is my best bet?

Also, will there be other rates coming out? Historically speaking, I'm curious to know how often I need to check in on promos, etc.

Thanks guys.

You are right. You would not get a deluxe resort for that price even with an AP discount. You might come close if it was value season (or whatever the cheapest season is called now) since when you take into consideration the Dolphin resort fee and tax the price is probably more like $155-$160 per night. The cheapest I've seen YC/BC with AP rates is about $180 (taxes incl.).

So, in your case, unless you will plan to go to the parks 8 or more days then an AP is not worth the money.

We have APs and , We are seriously considering the Dolphin because of thier rates vs other deluxes.

They area is great, the kids love the pool, it is very convient.
You won't be disappointed in the Dolphin.

I like to deal with one trip at a time. This is part of the cause of a lot of uproar & misery this year. Decisions based on "historical data" or hunches, or whatever this year has a big risk to it. IMO, Crunch the numbers & take the BEST DEAL you have for THIS TRIP & worry about the next trip, next time. What if they come out with another "book 4 nts, get 3 nts free deal" next time & the only reason you bought the AP was for next time? IMO, if you need park admission for 8 days or more for the basic AP or whatever is the break even point for the premium AP, than the AP is worth it.
