It says it is 2 blocks away and on area maps it appears to be close. I am just curious if anyone has walked it before and if it really is as close as it appears. For instance - where is the hotel entrance? Is it right on Harbor or is it a walk to Harbor?

I want to try to talk the people I am going with to not use ART and to walk it, but don't want people swearing at me half way after we start heading to the park

Don't know but these maps may help:

"How Far Is It?" (shows actual distances in feet from hotels to DLR entrance plaza) www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=mm060329as

"Walking Distance Accommodations" (shows hotels within walking distance) http://www.mouseplanet.com/dtp/maps/...g_distance_map

"Accomodations Near Disney" - http://www.accommodationsneardisney....nd/default.asp

Anaheim Resort Map - http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...84&postcount=1

Interactive Map of DLR - http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=33.809...2&z=19&l=0&m=b

I have stayed at the Anaheim Hilton and back then they had a shuttle. I don't remember it being only 2 blocks away.

Could you do Art one way to see how far it is and then decide if your group is up for the walk? Or call the hotel and get their opinion?

It doesn't look that far on the map and I would have no trouble walking it, but I do want to offer a bit of caution.

This is a very large hotel and it has several entrances. It is partially attached to the convention center and always seems busy. Once you find the entrance that is nearest Harbor, you're going to reach the corner of Harbor and Katella in about a block. That is technically where Disney property starts. Then you'll walk about two more blocks before you reach the entrance plaza. You won't be crossing any more streets, but it will feel a bit more like you've walked two blocks. There is a lot of foot traffic along that path and you're on Disney property so even though you're not actually inside the park, you sort of feel like you there.

Given the distance you will likely be walking once you are in the park, this walk to/from the hotel is almost nothing. As for time, I would guess that you could actually walk it faster than ART or a shuttle could get you there, considering the wait time and traffic.

I googled the route and it's a mile from curb to curb - which is not including walking distances from the curb and up to the gates at the park (not a short walk) or from your room to the curb (not short either).

You could do it but it'll take a long time - at least 20 minutes. I would plan on doing the ART as a backup transit method....especially for going back to the rooms at night!

Thanks, in my head I had it being a 10 minute walk, which is doable for my group. Not so sure about adding another 10 minutes to that. I will stick with ART.

We just returned from staying there. It's about 20-25mins as already mentioned. There's also a bus which is $2 (I think) one way. It stops right out front.

Also you could walk a block to the Toy Story parking lots and take the shuttle from there as well.

It is at least 20 minutes like a PP said. Their description of two blocks is just how long it takes to technically get onto Disney Property, which is the back of DCA. You still have to walk another two blocks or so to get to where you can enter the parks. I stayed there in 2003 and thought I could handle "two blocks" but once I saw how far it really was, I used ART everyday.

I stayed there once and we walked it its a little bit of a ways but not impossible it really depends on your tolerance level. I believe it is withing walking distance but my mom does not.

My family and I walked it on our last trip, but got ART for our upcoming July trip due to the length, as already mentioned and the potential summer temps compared to our last trip.

The ART fee for our 4 day stay for 4 people was around $32 or so.

We have stayed at the Hilton multiple times and the walk there is a nice 20 minute walk but the bus back after a long day in the park is priceless.:worship: Just buy the multi-day pass.

We always stay there and even if we walk to DL we ALWAYS take the ART back! Your feet will thank you:lmao: Plus you can go back and forth all day long for naps or breaks.

Yes, the one mile walk in the morning to DLR mutates into a five mile walk back at night. ;)
