Is the Anaheim Days Inn Maingate a dump?

It is coming up very cheap online.... so I am confused. It is one of the super-close hotels, just two hotes down from the Park Vue Inn.

I did a search but "anaheim days inn maingate" gets a lot of false results, unfortuantely.

Thanks.

Did you look at Trip Advisor/ to get the lay of the land.

Sorry but there is no Days Inn over by Park Vue. PV is across from Disneyland and the addy on DI is about 4 blocks away, and sometimes those are really big blocks. If you are looking for something affordable within walking distance you might try the Ramada Inn Maingate. It's about a 5-10 minute walk and decent.

Perhaps the map is old. It is the walking distance map from mouseplanet, and #8 is the Anaheim Days Inn Maingate (Between the Desert Inn and the Ramada Maingate.)

The price is low enough to scare me.

That map is probably not old but just wrong.

That spot is occupied by the Del Sol Inn Anaheim resort.
I got this one in the offseason for $60. I haven't seen it as low since I think it's base price is about $89 and commonly priced at $109 now.. It's a plain motel. Mediocre breakfast. Tight parking. Typical for the resort area. But really close.

The Days inn maingate is really far down harbor. It will require ART or a car to get to the parks unless you are an avid hiker.

I am pretty sure the Del Sol was a Day Inn for a while back quite a few years. Previously it was the Marco Polo.
The current Days Inn Maingate appears to be down Harbor Blvd a ways. You could walk it if you are full of energy.

To be fair, this is no farther than Embassy Suites South or Hampton Inn. Distance-wise, it would be reasonable to stay there and take ART, for someone on a budget. But I wouldn't walk it with kids. It gets so-so ratings on TripAdvisor. But I've never been there, so I can't help any more than that.

This map better shows the hotels and their locations to DL.
For reference Desert Inn and Suites address is, 1600 S. Harbor Blvd.
Anaheim CA 92802 We stay here because of how close it is to the DL walkway!
PS the red arrow is to mark where McDonalds is at!

I'm pretty sure this is the one with the shuttle.

We have stayed there several times and yes it is pretty far down the road.... you have to walk up and over the 1-5 over pass. They do have a free shuttle but it is on I think an hourly schedule and when we were there last time in sept the shuttle came 20 minutes after park closing even though WOC ended well after that. We walked and it was kinda scary, there was a drunk guy coming towards us when we got to the over pass.......
As far as the motel it is not great but we usually don't spend any time there, decent outdoor pool, funky breakfast of cereal, some fruit and toast. Rooms are pretty old and some of the carpet is less than clean.
If you are looking for cheap and some where to crash you are in the right spot....... If we can stay at HOJO on the retro rate we opt for that every time. Good luck:hippie:
