Am I nuts to try to get a trip to Disneyland over Thanksgiving? Is it super busy? We'd maybe be there Thursday-Saturday.

Thanks!

It will be now, folks are abandoning 2016 and now making plans for the last three months of 2015 for a perfect Disneyland before the 2016 blemish. If not for the horrible wall being built , 2015 Thanksgiving would be a bit above busy and easy to manage with early mornings and late evenings. But now....i think those evenings are going to disappear and the only hope, yes the "only hope" will be early mornings till 11:00, then hang on!!!!! El Nino, 60th, and now ROA disappearing, the mixture is combustible!!!

We used to go either Thursday or Friday of Thanksgiving weekend every year with family up until 2 years ago. It's always pretty busy. It's also rained for a small part of the day several times. And not the "locals stay away" rain everyone brags about, but the canceled parade, ground is slippery, every seat is wet and everyone is cranky kind of rain. If you want to eat TS, make ADRs and go with the expectation that there will be crowds and lines, it's doable, but you have to manage expectations.

We went the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2 (3? I forget) years ago. It was really busy. Not New Year's Eve busy, but really busy. We didn't get a whole lot done, but we were also a large group with 4 kids under 5, including an infant, and someone in a wheelchair.

In 2013 we went to DL the week of Thanksgiving, we were in the parks from Wed-Sun. I did a lot of reading on what to expect as far as crowds and got totally freaked out, people had reported capacity crowds on Thurs. So we went with the expectation of 2 hour waits, long QS lines, no seating, etc. I'm happy to say that was not the case! Now it was busy but we usually go in Oct and it really wasn't much different than that. Wed was fine, Thurs morning/early afternoon DL was pretty mellow but crowds did increase in the afternoon, and Fri-Sun were busier but not horrific.

I can tell you that i have had great week before and during Thanksgiving visits and recommend it highly....but everything has changed as of yesterday.....El Nino, Holidays, 60th and now 2016 closures, visits are changing as we read here... be prepared, go with the mind set that crowds will not influence your magic and you will find the magic beyond the unplanned current influences

As of last year LAUSD is now off the whole week of Thanksgiving.

All the districts in my town a couple hours away went to the whole week off starting this year too, and as AP holders we're going M-W. I expect it will be crazy busy, but we'll have fun anyway :)

We are booked the Saturday to Wednesday but we are seriously considering canceling due to crowds. I'm afraid with all the upcoming closures it's going to make crowds even worse!

What is the "2016 blemish"? I just found this thread because we're thinking about a Thanksgiving trip next year, and the crowd calendar predict pretty average crowds....

The parks will be undergoing some very serious construction in 2016. Check out the refurb schedules and you will see the parks will be a mess next year.

They are draining the Rivers of America to re-route the railroad and dig up about 1/4 of Tom Sawyer Island to make way for Stars Wars Land. The railroad, Fantasmic, river boats, canoes, T.S Island will all be closed for perhaps 18 months.Along New Orleans the view will be of a fence where ROA was. There are also alot of refurbs scheduled.

As far as Thanksgiving goes, we were there Sun thru Wed before Thanksgiving and NEVER again. It was way too crowded. You waste alot of time waiting in lines , not just for rides but for food and restrooms. Go the week after Thanksgiving

No. Cashews are nuts. So are peanuts. And at least one squirrel in I think Marin County. Lmao go squirrel! Or should that be squirrel Nutkin? Lol

Actually, cashews and peanuts are both legumes, not actual nuts. Name notwithstanding, of course.
