Is Thanksgiving busier than July?

We spent the first week of July this year at WDW and the crowds really didn't bother us. For our next trip, I want a different experience and am considering Thanksgiving. The times of year we can go are limited by my wife's profession (kindergarten teacher).

Is Thanksgiving on par with the first week of July, or worse?

It might be a little more crowded, at least the way summers have been lately, but it's still not terrible.

July has become one of the slowest months of the year so in terms of crowds, it will be much busier over Thanksgiving. You'll have better weather over thanksgiving too so it just depends how much that better weather is worth to you.

I found Thanksgiving to be way too crowded last year. July is too hot but less crowded. If I did do thanksgiving again I would book after/before hours events. You get so much done.

July, excluding the days right around Independence Day, has seen only low to moderate crowds in recent years. Thanksgiving will be much busier.

I don't think Thanksgiving is that much busier than 4th of July week. They're actually kind of similar. Thanksgiving week itself isn't bad until Wed-Sun. Even then, only MK itself is really crowded. July 4th is about the same. You'll get 4 days of crowds surrounding 4th of July, coinciding with the weekend. Crowds aren't horrible, except MK.

Are you thinking about this Thanksgiving or in a year or so? We have taken last minute trips in the past with no problems, and did just start planning one a few weeks ago for this Thanksgiving. It was hard to find rooms, but we're good with splitting up our stay. And it's already time to get fast passes, assuming you're staying onsite. I almost missed our window! In fact, I was a day late!

Thanksgiving trips to me are better for the weather alone (we go every summer), also the decorations are amazing along with the extra holiday things happening. So I don't really worry about the crowds but I'm guessing it will be about the same if you're comparing it to 4th of July crowds. We plan on the same strategy as summer.....get to parks before opening.
