Is Test Track too scary for a ride wimp?

I'm a total ride wimp - no coasters, towers, or simulators for me!!!! It took me ages to get up the courage to ride Test Track - but when I finally did, it became one of my favorites immediately!!!! I love the sensation of going fast at the end, knowing that I won't dip, plunge, or invert. It's a great ride, even if you are a ride wimp otherwise!!!! (BTW, I am a middle-aged, gray haired old lady!)

My mother is a real true blue ride wimp and to be honest it was too much for her. I even told her what to expect and she was screaming the entire time she was out on the track..

Just being realistic here. Hope this helps!

Picture this, driving along your local interstate freeway, in a convertible car, going 60 mph. About the only part that would be a little out of the ordinary is a wide, steep curve around the outside of the building.
Most people drive faster is their rental car on the way to Disney from the Airport.
Precisely. It's like driving in a car. Surely you've had your car on the highway at 65.

As for the jolting and jaring, frankly, the parking lot at my local Foodland is much, much worse. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My 3 year old son rode this past October, and wanted to ride it over, and over again. So, i think you be able to handle it, if my 3 year old ds did.

I'm the mother of a Total Ride Whimp! DS(7) refuses to ride any of the MK mountains, freaked out on Astro Orbiter, took him 3 years to get the courage up to ride Aladdin's Carpets!

Believe it or not I pulled him screaming & kicking onto It's a Small World! He just knew it was going to be a scary ride.

Also had to convince him Test Track was not that scary. He was a little freaked out, and almost started crying when we took off for the brake test. At the end of the ride he said "can we go again?". Test Track is now his favorite ride!

O.K. so you are a little worse then me! YAHOO! :rotfl2: just kidding! I haven't been on Star Tours because of the motion thing! don't do well on that kind of thing.
I actually rode Test Track ONCE. I won't do it again! I don't like sudden stops and fast turns...they make my stomach woozy! :rotfl: you also have sudden temperature changes! I do have to admit that at the end of the ride when you take off at a very fast speed..it's kind of fun! I just need to skip the first 5 minutes of the ride! :rolleyes1
Honestly, you should give it a try...if you can handle star tours you can probably handle this. HAVE FUN! Helen

Our "ride wimp", Dd9 was apprehensive, but gave it a try. She then asked to ride it over and over! It's not scary at all, especially after the first time when you are all worked up with anxiety over the possibilities of it!
My DB was the same way. He was terrified to go on Test Track. It does sound scary from the outside. But after it was over he decided it was his favorite ride at WDW!

I can't believe OP is scared of Pirates but likes Star Tours! That ride makes me sick! :lmao:

If you can drive 60mph on the highway in a convertible or other car, you will be fine....

The same rides you list are my favs too and I LOVED test track. Try it.
Diane

Thanks for all the advice!! You'll probably be disappointed to hear that I wimped out at the last minute and didn't ride it. LOL! It just looked and sounded so scary from the outside!!

Not scary. We have one child anxious about rides, but she rode it when she was 8 for the first time. She said it was like driving with her father. Of course to some people, that would be very scary.

I agree with the others...it's not scary at all. More exhilarating! I can't stop smiling while riding this attraction. :teeth:

 It took me a long time before I would ride it also. My dh said it was just like driving in Boston. :rotfl2: He was almost right. Driving in Boston is much much worse. :rotfl: Maybe next time you will give it a try. :thumbsup2

I figure if I can ride it anyone can. I am the chicken as far as fast, extreme rides. I went on SM and hated it. But also got up the nerve to finally ride Big Thunder Mountain in 2004 (4th trip to WDW) and the nerve to ride TT (2002, my 2nd trip to WDW). I fell in love  with both. Once I get the first ride over with, I am ready to go again, and usually am more relaxed because I know what to expect.

I am still too chicken to try EE or Tower of Terror. :sad2:
