I called WDW yesterday to modify some existing ADRs, and was told that now (2012), many new DD restaurants do accept the DDP! SHe listed off T-Rex, Rainforest Cafe (both locations), Fulton's Crab House, Paradisio, and a few others. So exciting!

It is now listed on the brochure, but then again Disney has made this mistake before. CM's have also for years mislead guests with this information. I am not saying this has come true, just saying let's proceed with caution until confirmed.

The day it was announced, I called T Rex direct because I couldn't get an ADR online. The woman at T Rex gave me a large selection of times available and asked if I was on the DDP. She then told me that as of Jan 1st they were accepting it. I didn't even mention the DDP, she did. Also last Sept I ate lunch one day at House of Blues. The place was almost empty and the waitress spent alot time just talking to me. She mentioned that they were getting a new menu Dec 5th and that as of Jan 1st they were going to start accepting the DDPs. I asked her, if she was sure and she told me they had already had meetings talking about it and that the manager said for them to get ready for a huge increase in business. She then waved her hand over the almost empty restaurant and told me they didn't really have choice if they wanted to stay in business. (I asked her if the menu change was related to them accepting the DDP and she said probably. She then went back and got me a bunch of papers clipped together that described and showed a picture of each item on the new menu. The new menu had not been printed yet, but the items I saw looked quite a bit smaller than items on the old menu.) T Rex and Rainforest Cafes are always packed though, so not sure why Landry's decided to start accepting the DDPs.
I was trying to get a reservation for feb and, according to the page, it was no times available...
Do you think that they are having issues with the page?
I should call them!

It's not a problem with the page. It is that they don't release most of their tables for booking through Disney. If you can't get a reservation through Disney, call them directly and you will get what you want.

Thank you!!
Do you know if I'll be able to use my DDP even if I don't book through Disney?
(totally 1st timer!) or if I just show up with no reservation?

Yes you will. They'll probably ask you when you check in, if you are on a DDP, but even if they don't just tell the waiter.
I go solo to WDW several times a year and am notorious for changing my dining plans once I get down there. I've done many walk ups, while on the DDP and have never had a problem using it when I do. Booking ADRs through Disney have nothing to do with being on the DDPs. Lots of people use the DDP, but choose to wing it down there.
