Is SW Quick Queue worth? Here's my experience

I am wondering we have 2 year passporter passes(me DH & DD) my nephew doesn't and he is coming w/us - are you allowed to buy these for your guest or does each person have to be a pass holder?


We are in any case doing the VIP tour this trip - Do you know IF our nephew(he measures 53.5 inches in bare feet) DOES NOT make the height requirement and I or DH sits out the rides(MANTA) that he may not make it on to - will SW give us a pass to do the ride later?


So sorry but you seem to know so much and I LOVE ALL YOUR articles that I have found links to just thought I'd ask an expert

Great review - I'll definately consider buying Quick Queue for our next visit to SW. For our DD, less time queuing for rides means more time to watch the sealife.

We were going to give seaworld a miss next year as we thought the wait times verses the number of rides etc meant it was not viable with as we could get more rides etc elsewhere - we did not even realise that they did this and would now consider a visit, especially as the party would be split, 2 riders and 2 non riders that wait around for the others, so this would mean we could get more done with less stress, will certainly be checking this out. inkoggnito, thanks for the report! Very helpful! It's got me to thinking, and I have a question for you: In your opinion, could purchasing Quick Que potentially give us an extra day of vacation?

We're staying 8 days in October; visiting Disney, Seaworld & Aquatica. We are giving each of Disney's park 1 day, Aquatica one day, and Seaworld 1 1/2 days. My reasoning for that was because Seaworld is the one place we really want to see the shows and I have read that it can be tough to fit the shows and rides around each other. So I thought we would have a "Sleep In Day," maybe get to Seaworld around 12pm, and focus on seeing the shows. Then take a different full day, get there at Rope Drop, and focus on the rides.

It's just been recently, though, that I've realized that Seaworld doesn't actually offer as many attractions as the Disney parks. I'm wondering if giving Seaworld 1 1/2 days is a little overkill, especially since Quick Que is an option?

So if I were to purchase Quick Que do you think we could, without being rushed, ride the roller coasters AND see the shows in one day? Would you suggest doing this on the full day or do you think we could do this on the "sleep in" day (say, being at the park from 12:00pm-6:00pm).

I know you can't predict the future, but I just have no concept of how long things take and I think you definitely qualify as an expert!

yes you absolutely could. Only 5 rides if you count the space needle and 3 shows unless you count the night ones which are different.

Quick Queue would save you a ton of time just with Manta alone. I think it would be a great way to ensure you get all the good stuff done in a day.

we were just at sea world today. we bought quick queue for the 4 riders in the family, leaving hubbyguy to hold the bags. We arrived at 9:30, and left at 6. In that time we rode Manta 4 times, Kraken 3 times, Journey to Atlantis 3 times (a better than expected ride I'd never ridden before) and Wild Artic once, which was one times to many for most of the party. We saw Shamu, Clyde/Seamore and Allure, had a nearly 2 hour lunch at shark's underwater grills, and saw manatees, dolphins, stingrays, both aquariums.

Did not do the Blue Whale/Horizons show or the pet show, and nobody was small enough to get upset at not going to Happy Harbor, which used to eat 2-3 hours. For what we wanted to do, it was plenty of time.

At Manta, I highly recommend going into thte aquarium; the underwater viewing of stingrays is awesome.

quick queue was SO worth the money. Atlantis was up to 50 minutes this afternoon. we never waited more than 3 minutes or so with quick queue. On Kracken and Atlantis they let us ride multiple times w/out having to go out through the line. (before 11).

My only problem with quick queue is they didn't incorporated it very well. It's a major pain when you're standing on the loading side of Kraken, and there's maybe 3 groups of 4 in front, and all of sudden they load 2-3 groups from the quick queue making the standby even worse, than what you thought when you picked a row to get into.
They finally figured it out right at manta. Now if only they knew how to do it at the others. I also hate trying to exit the rides with people walking up the exit side by side, like the whole path belongs to them.

I for one will never waste my money on it. But if I get a platinum, I'll definatly take advantage of the ride again privileges.

Is the quick que necessary in October?

When we go to WDW in October we can usually walk on all of the rides. Is the same true for Sea World? I know they have far fewer rides, so this may make the lines longer. I have not been to SW in 20 years, so its basically like I have never been before. We will have several days to spend there, so we don't need to rush for anything, but nobody wants to stand in line for an hour. Plus we are going with a baby, so someone will always have to wait with her.

Right now Manta has been running 20 mins. when my DH goes toward the end of the day, but that might go up in Oct. You can try without it, and if it looks like the park is getting crowded, buy one ASAP as they do sell out.
