Is Summer or Spring Break busier?

I've always heard that summer was generally a lot more crowded at Disney than Spring Break. Lately I've seen a few posts where people say that Spring Break is more crowded though. I'm really curious about this now, as we are going for Spring Break this year (Apr. 6-12). What do you think?

The closer your dates are to Easter the bigger the crowds. If you look at WDW resort pricing seasons you can pretty much tell when there will be big crowds. Do your dates fall in peak season? If so, you can expect crowds.

As for summer, it depends. We often go right after Memorial Day and find the crowds to be moderate. I think after mid June the crowd levels go way up as more schools dismiss for summer. Then the crowds begin to taper off as schools start new years in August.

Here is a spring break poll:

And a crowd predictor:

Not sure if they will be clicky; I am on a Mac.

Last time we went in early-mid August and while it was busy (and hot); the crowds were not what I would call horrible. (It was before school started too).

I have heard that since spring break is spread out (we are going to but in March); its not as busy as Thanksgiving/Christmas weeks (because those holidays are the same for everyone). Not sure how it compares to the summer though.

It appears from the above; we have one of the more popular Spring Breaks.

Easter is April 8, so unfortunately you are going during the busiest Spring Break week. Consequently, crowds are likely to be higher than summer.

It depends on the week of spring break and the week of summer break. Both are high season for parks. For week by week estimates, I'd recommend subscribing to the Unofficial Guide www.touringplans.com plus you can get touring plans to use either time (main benefit).

As a general rule, I'd say that spring break is more crowded. But if you have a less popular spring break week that might not be the case or if you pick one of the several most popular weeks of the summer season that might not be the case.

IMO I would say the summer weeks when all the kids across the country are out of school. Spring Break will be crowded...but schools are off different weeks so I think it will be doable. Ex..my brothers kids in Westchester, NY are off the week before Easter and return to school 4/9...my kids are off the Thurs and Fri before Easter and the whole week after, they return on 4/16...and I am on Long Island, NY. I am going 4/10 through the 16th...I take my family to Disneyland for the Christmas break..the parks are closed to capacity by 10am....Now that is crowded :rotfl: but we always manage to get on everything we want....you just have to be organized...have a great trip...see you there ;)
