Is spring break really bad?

We have gone in the summer several times, so we are used to crowds and heat. But we’re looking at a split trip with Universal over spring break and I’m scared of the crowds😱 I can’t decide if we should try to do both places.

Is it really that bad? Do we think fast passes will be back by then? We know we won’t be able to do it all and that’s okay, but I would like to get *something* accomplished during a few days’ time.

We have never been during the summer or spring break, but with school and work can't find any other time to go so just going for it. We have done WDW many times and feel like this board will also make it easier.

Pretty sure FP will be back. 99.9% there, although it’s likely to undergo changes.

Spring break is very busy. But it’s also a high price season so WDW goes out of the way trying to ensure folks have a pleasant trip. They staff fully and expand park hours. It’s not as bad as many people think. There is a sea of people but everything is open running at top capacity.

Good point. We are always the first full week of April. Easter is late this year, which I’m hoping could work in our favor.
That definitely works in your favor! Ours is always towards the end of April and we find it to be busy but manageable. We went around Easter once and it was definitely busier but not the nightmare I had heard of, I think it being so late might have helped us out. I think early April with no Easter will be better than the rest march and the part of April surrounding Easter :)

DW is a teacher so we always have to go during Spring Break, Thanksgiving, or Christmas break. We could go in summer but we live in TX and get enough of the heat and humidity so we rule out summer for that reason. We have been twice during Spring Break and twice during Christmas break. Next year we are tentatively planning two trips (first time ever going twice in a year) for Spring Break and Thanksgiving. Where we live, however, Spring Break is usually somewhere around mid-March. In our experience it is not that bad at all, especially at the start of the trip. It does start to get busier toward the end but having gone at Christmas, we definitely don't feel it's that bad.

I've been March, April and May and just about every week of those three months through the years. I can honestly say, I never even know when or it is spring break. The crowds do seem to pick up later in Spring but I always see kids there, no matter what time of year and I'm guessing more and more people are sticking to home schooling now.

We've visited a few times during spring break and yes it is busy. Keep in mind it's busy now regardless of the time you go.... slow times at WDW are long gone. If you plan correctly you will be able to pass everyone standing at the entrance deciding where to go first. One of our most successful trips was during Christmas week and we managed to do everything we planned and more. No worries, plan and enjoy your trip!!!

The week before and after Easter will always be busy because a higher number of people have days off of work/school before and/or after Easter Sunday.

The rest of Spring Break season is a bit of a wild card, because there is no one universal "Spring Break". Schools have them at different times. (And most have them before it's actually even Spring.) But I actually think the entire Spring Break season is easier to deal with because of that. If you spread out those school breaks, then you also spread out the crowds. :)

"Spring Break" is a season that starts in early March and runs until the end of April. It is the combination of school vacations, snow birds and great weather that attracts crowds.

Is it busy? Yes, but the cooler weather can make things a lot more comfortable.
