is splash mountain at wdw scarier than jurassic park as far as the drop goes?

Yea, it might be a bit much for her. There are 2 other water rides though, so maybe we will check them out. DH and I would love JP tho, so maybe we will do rideswap.

My nearly 7yr old was deathly scared on Dinosaur ride - but he enjoyed the Jurassic Park Ride - He understood that there would be dinosurs and that they were fake - He looked a bit terrified at the sight of the Trex - but was willing to ride JP more than once - so he must have had fun!

He loves Splash MTn, Dudley - etc - the fall part does not scare him (funny, I am just the opposite....)

My youngest son (now 14) was 7 the first time he rode JPRA. We had the misfortune of having the ride stop for an extended period of time just before the big drop which means that the hungry T-Rex was just above us. My son was TERRIFIED! The drop didn't bother him at all, but that T-Rex was definitely another story.

The raptors that lunge toward the side of the boat aren't easy to take for a little one either.

I'd ride it first without your child if you can manage it to see what you think. You'd know best what would scare your child.

My DS has always been a very vocal and articulate kid. when we first took him to US/IoA he was about 7. we got on Jaws. As the guide does his theme thing my son converses with him, telling him how well he moves the boat. the guide smiles and compliments my boy's chatting skills. he was loving the ride until our friend "Bruce" pops out the water. My son lets out a yell and i hold him tight telling him its going to be OK. I am feeling lousy and tell him the guide will 'Take care" of old brucey. We get to the part where we get to the first explosion and my son screams out "Is anyone coming to save us? What kind of place is this with no police?!". i try my best not to fall from laughter and we get to the point where bruce dies and he tells the guide he took too long. the guide face turns red and just starts laughing as hard as he can.
Now later we go to JP Falls. I got a older kid plus a couple of teenage cousins with us so i try to get him on. no luck, till i get him a toy gun from MIB and tell him it works just like the MIB ride. we get on and he sees the good dinos and claps, then the baddies come and he flings his hat at them. yup the $20 Suess hat i just got him. I remind him of the MIB gun and the ride completely changes. every baddie that came he swore he shot with his MIB gun and kept asking me where is his score. when the T-rex came i told him its a million points. forget it he loved it and kept taking his "shots" at it. then the drop came. He screamed and smiled all they way down (he likes thrills but not scares).
that was almost 3 years ago and he still has the MIB gun.

Orlandonyc: What a GREAT idea, for any ride that MAY end up being scary!! Do the MIB guns have a laser light thingy? I'm still not sure about JP, but she says she wants to go on the Jaws ride....

no lazers but it made a sound at the time. i don't know if they still sell those but it look likes the little gun will smith had in the first movie. it was great and after the JP ride he wanted to get on everything.
