We will have a 9 months old and 11 year old when we go. Is this ride worth riding with them?

The 11 yr old will like it. My DS (11) likes to go on it every time we go. There are a number of 'rooms' you move through that are on the darker side, but not scary...just in case you think the baby might react to that. Overall it is a very slow & relaxing ride filled with info.

I would say yes, absolutely! Cool and calm for the baby and some nice history tidbits for your 11 year old. It's classic disney to me and a must do every Epcot visit. My kids are almost 11, 10, and 8 and love it. Especially with the interactive photo screen. ;)

Great, thanks for all the replies! Just trying to iron out our daily itineraries. Sometimes hard with so much age difference between them- pretty sure DH and I will have to split off at some points!

It's a great ride. Much more fun than I was expecting. And you are in one of those omni-mover cars so it's kind of slow and relaxing. I'm sure your younger one will be fine.

One of my favorites. I think the 11 yo will enjoy it, I know I fell in love with it when I first rode it . . . probably about 14 at the time.

Absolutely! This is a must ride every time for me at EC.

I love it when I select the right narration language! Last year I somehow ended up selecting somewhere in South America as my home country and the entire presentation was in Spanish!!! Made for a long ride. My wife was with DS3 in another car and she thought it was hilarious.

We do it at least once every trip and on our last 2 Oct trips we were glad we had FPs for this, pretty long line.

How else will you learn about the Phoenicians? Or see the Greek/Roman boy with unusually large ethnic skin tone hands. lol

P.S. Ride it in the late afternoon - line will be like 5 mins....

I love it! Plus, it is a great place to cool off and relax your feet.

My husband and daughter hate it with a passion though. :) They were stuck on it once for about 45 minutes on an incline right by the Egyptian pounding stone over and over. LOL

I think it is a great ride. I love history and learning and I find it very interesting to learn about what past civilizations did. Now I don't enjoy it as much as I did as a kid because I enjoyed Jeremy Irons narration better than Judi Dench. I remember in the early 2000s just riding it for 3 times in a row in the same car during EMHs.

Classic Disney stuff here, nothing else quite like it. A description of it might sound kind of boring, but the attraction is very enjoyable. Super cute ending too!

ONe of the classics and a must do for all of my family. We never skip it.

Worth riding ..... If the wait is <20 min

A lot of guests wait unnecessarily as they think they need to stand in the parks' first line.

I always ride Spaceship Earth, but I keep looking at wait times so I don't waste time in the too-common 30+ min waits of the FP+ era.

For the OP's specific scenario... The 11y/o should get some enjoyment from the interactive part in the car, and the 9mo is allowed...and any ride that the whole family can do, is a good ride!

Yes, yes and yes- Also (as stated above) the Roman General in the ride was molded from Teddy Roosevelt's mold ( from the Hall of Presidents in MK) when they built the ride- to save some money.
