Is space mountain scary

Casey Jnr and Star Tours are my limit - I'll leave Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Indiana Jones and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster to the big kids!

We found on our last visit in june, it was a great ride. But as I'm rather small in height, just over 5 ft it did bump my head around. After a couple of days into our hols DH & I stopped riding it & left it to our kids.

Well depends if you think this is scary....

Going fast and upside down, corkscrewing in darkness and not being able to see the track, only planets around you and hearing loud music.

Makes you a bit dizzy when you come off (Only the first time though and I went on 11 times during my last trip ) but I didn't feel sick once.

My Mum didn't go on it for ages then we finally got her to go on on the last day of our trip and she loved it and wished she hadn't of chickend out the other days because she could of gone on it more.

Go on it! You'll love it! It's AMAZING!!

It is a fantastic experience..and the best thing to do I find is to totally relax back into the seat and just go with it. The effects are stunning and you really feel as though you are whizzing around in space.

I never found it scary, just painful. lol

I don't remember much about it apart from my face banging against the sides. I never went back on it, although I found the other roller coaster type rides in the park fine.

the most uncomfortanle roller coaster *EVER* has got to be manhatten express at the NYNY hotel in Vegas. Any disney one I have ever been on is sooooooo smooth compared to that!

hey!!! space mtn is one of the best rollercoasters i have ever been on!!! i am 11 yrs old and loved it soooo much!! the effects are brilliant and it is so smooth!!! no way is it scary, but dont take my word for it GO AND DO IT YOURSELF AND YOU WILL LOVE IT!!! Plus you cant miss rock n roller coaster and indiana jones too!!

I completely agree! That roller coaster is absolutely horrific - and the track is so narrow you think you are going to fall off...never again!

I have yet to venture on Space Mountain : Mission 2 but for me Mission 1 was simply the greatest & I cant wait to do Mission 2.It is such a fantastic attraction - theme,music,thrills,atmosphere,friendly Cast Members combine to make a truly magical Disney experience.Go on enjoy !! I went on it 40 times & found it the best ride in the world !!

Duelling Dragons in Orlando is faster but SM shades it plus being a Disney Coaster it has to !!

Duelling Dragons is almost my top coaster. I marginally preferred Montu and Kraken because they are so smooth.

I can't wait to try Mission 2, it'll probably be fourth on my list of "to do's" for my January trip.

You're right that the themeing at Disney is impossible to beat and the CM's do make such a difference to how you remember the rides. I'll try to remember to listen to the music - when I went on mission 1 I just heard my DS screaming all the way through.
