I have been checking my iphone app for a couple of days and it list Space Mountain as closed. Is this an error or is there a problem?

It should be open. I just checked my WDW Wait Times app (free version) and it is listed as a 15 minutes wait. The most recent time was 20 minutes at 12:02.

What app are you using? I downloaded a 2nd app that is almost never correct and I think that one was $0.99.

I just checked again and it is now showing 20 minutes. When does Pirates open back up?

LOL Robo! I did look at the WDW Wait times App and it is showing Pirates closed right now?

I am showing a 13 minute wait currently for Pirates. I am using the Lines page from UG.

EDIT: Also showing a 10 minute wait using the "Ride Hopper" app on Android. And a 5 minute wait using the iPhone WDW Wait Times app.

Clearly a wait times app from Disney themselves receiving updates from their computer systems would be useful. One can dream.

They have it, its the Mobile Magic Verizon app.

Does the WDW free app work better when you are in the parks?

Are talking about the m.disneyworld.com mobile web site?

I doubt it, Since its free info they are only going to give a little info to get you to buy a Verizon phone and their app.

No. It doesn't. I used the WDW free iPhone app last week in the parks and the estimated wait time was almost never correct. We found that if you wanted to know approximately the correct wait time, you have to look at the recently submitted wait times. Even then some times were off - we saw a lot of rides where people submitted "120+" as the wait time, even though the ride had maybe a 5 minute wait.

Also, we noticed that wait times would be listed for attractions that were closed and vice-versa. Test Track was closed our entire stay, but most of the time a wait time was listed on the app. It was frustrating, and after the first day or so we stopped using the app. Instead, I used m.disneyworld.com on my iPhone - it doesn't list exact wait times, but it does list if rides have a long wait or not.

Odd. We used the wait time iphone app obsessively in the parks last week and it was always spot-on for us, within reason (sometimes said 70 minutes when it was 80, or 20 minutes instead of 15, but usually updated to those following).

The wait time app was even what clued us in to Test Track being reopened a day early...we were across Epcot and saw a time pop up, which we chalked up to a mistake, but when we walked over, sure enough they were offering fastpasses and letting folks into standby!

Rides do occassionally shut down temporarily in the course of a day and we always assumed that was what was happening when a ride was listed as CL. We never saw one listed with CL for more than a very brief while unless it was, of course, legitimately down, like Splash Mountain.

I updated it as much as I could, but even when, for example, people kept updating a ride as "50 minutes" (which was the correct wait time), the app would continue to say "20 minutes." One day it had a wait time listed for Splash Mountain every time I checked, even though the ride was clearly closed and people had been submitting "CL" all day. Same with Test Track (we left Saturday, the day it opened, so I know for a fact that it was closed when I saw that a wait time was listed).

Although this is slightly off topic, we found most of the wait times posted on the signs throughout the parks to be incorrect. One time at DHS the wait time for TSM was listed (on the sign outside the ride) as 70 minutes. We walked right in and waited about 20 minutes. They gave the people behind us one of those red tags used to help determine wait times, and when we got off the ride the sign said the wait time was 80 minutes :confused3 . The same thing happened at ToT. The sign said it was a 50 minute wait, and we waited no more than 10 minutes. They gave me one of the red tags, and when we were done riding the wait time on the sign was bumped to 60 minutes. Those are just some examples, but it happened to us on most of the rides we went on.

Basically, we just had bad luck with posted wait times in both the park and with the app :rotfl:
