Is some DVC capacity being held back? And if so, speculation on opening it up?

Just a reminder that we ask that people not post actual availability as it changes too often.

DVC declared 147 vacation homes into RIV inventory on Jan 17, 2021. This represented 465,100 points. Sales numbered 69,875 in February, 72,063 in March, 88,714 in April and 61,375 in May for a total of 292,027 points over 4 months. If future sales average around 73,000 per month, we should see another declaration in about 2-1/2 to 3 months. If the sales slump seen in May continues thru the summer, then it's anybody guess.

Thanks so much for this information!

Oops, sorry got excited to see it and came back again now for the same reason lol. Ill keep my findings to myself lol.

Good luck! As you know the inventory changes almost immediately. Like they say, “you got to be in it to win it”!
Yep. It's fun chasing this, my job has strict rules for Q4, so I can't really take any non-holidays off between 11/1 and Christmas break, and we have a family of 5. We have tickets that expire 12/17. I miss the old days of having a playard in a room. :-)

Can they DM it if they think the person would be interested?

No. That would be trying to work around the rules.

OP, Sandi's post was to me since I was the one giving the dates but yes, I cannot DM you either, but quite honestly, if you really wanted the dates and you could stalk, you would already be planning your trip :)

Let us know how it works out for you. Like I said before, you have to be in it to win it.

All I can say is stalk the site. I just added on 12/31 and 1/1 to the rest of our January trip about 5 minutes ago. Yes, it’s a 1 bedroom at SSR which probably isn’t anyone’s dream resort (though I do like it) but I don’t care where I am on NYE at Disney; I’m just thrilled to be there with my kids and husband.

We are SSR fans, we love walking to Disney Springs, or more importantly, walking back…

We own at SSR and about 5 years ago, my dh and I booked the THVs with our "kids" (they are older). We LOVED being there for NYE since I wasn't putting us in a park that day.

I made ressies at Boathouse, told the waitress we were staying through NYE and she spaced out our dinner perfectly and then the last 30 minutes we hung at the bar, where we had drinks, they handed out complimentary champagne and we rang in the new year.

For you, going at such a busy time, I would be thrilled that you have the restaurants and bars at night in walking distance, where you don't have to wait for any transportation. Win-Win.

And yes, I agree with you. Stalking usually wins. I first pieced together an 8 night stay at SSR, then AKVs Kidani (both one bedrooms). Then the last three weeks, I was able to get us 8 nights, pool/garden view one bedroom at BWVs. It took five separate ressies, but I did it. Stalking for November 11 to make it 9 nights (right now, first night I was able to get SSR), and hoping pixie dust comes my way LOL

Enjoy your trip!

That sounds like a great NYE! I usually log in 2-4 times a day to check but I should think about auto refresh.

I was able to get a 1 bedroom at BCV fo 1/1 and I switched us over since we are in a 1 bedroom at BCV from 1/2 anyway. Yesterday, I was able to book a 1 bedroom savanna at Jambo for 12/31 so I switched us over. My kids are young (8 and 6) so we won’t be doing anything later in the evening anyway. Seeing the animals is always a huge treat for them so I figured that they could use the pool, see the animals, and maybe do a little NYE activity at the resort.

Your BWV trip sounds fantastic; I hope you have a magical time!

Ditto! You too! Enjoy!

I have been stalking and have been very successful the ast three weeks from getting SSR to AKL Savanah to now BWVs. Last week I saw a lot of Thanksgiving weekend being put back. I know this since I would get excited and then realize it was Thanksgiving lol.

If you can, keep stalking and put in a WL.

Good luck!

Same. We were able to switch our home resort AKV reservation for the week of Christmas to BWV and then to BCV by stalking and waitlisting.
