I just read a post online that said Soarin' was closed and will be for the next couple of weeks, but no more info was added. Can someone confirm this? I've got friends arriving there on November 16th and wanted to give them a heads up. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response Figment! Looks like they'll be able to ride it (I know she's very upset that the Jedi experience is closed when they are there).

If people want to experience this on their own...

1) Peel an orange.
2) Jump up in the air.
3) Smell the orange.

Thats Soarin. :)

Lights and video optional.

Bwahahaa! Yay, now I can ride Soarin' at home :rotfl2:

Spoke with 2 cast members at the Soarn' station. They said that they were replacing the entire sound system as some of the highs and lows were not responding as they should. So instead of replacing one speaker at a time, they're gutting the whole thing. Not sure why they didn't do this when it was down for 3 months earlier this year, but there's the reason it's down.

The smells are my favorite part maybe I will even add in a pine car freshener. XD

I don't think this is related to the closure but I thought I would mention it because this is a discussion about Soarin. I called the DLH a few days ago to book a room and told the CM that we haven't been since March when Soarin and that whole area was still under construction for the refurbishment. She said that they put a new screen in (which is desperately needed) and did some other work.

She also said they are in the process of a filming a new show called "Soarin Around the World". She did not indicate when it will open but I assume it will be next year. Thought that was interesting... something to look forward to since the show has been the same for the last 14 years. Maybe that's old news, but it's new to me. :)
