On Saturday morning we were up early to finish packing. We called bell services and they sent a very nice guy with a golf cart to help us get our luggage back to the main building. He told us that the Alligator Bayou buildings don't have elevators so he has to carry the luggage up and down the stairs -- oh my! So he got us all loaded up and as we left the room we reminded DD to grab Violet, her favorite little stuffed dog. We all piled into the golf cart with our luggage, DH in the front with the driver and me with DD in the back.
Though we were sad to be leaving it was a pretty little drive through the resort. Then just as we got on the main road DD yelled out "Oh no, Violet FAAAALLLLLED!!!!!"
Well, the very nice guy from bell services back tracked until we spotted it on the side of the main road, then got out and rescued Violet. Needless to say, he got a very good tip.
We left our luggage with luggage services. In case anyone doesn't know, you check in your luggage there and don't see it again until your plane lands. Then we left our carry ons with bell services, and went to wait for a bus to Downtown Disney.
It took a while for a bus to come. Our first stop in Downtown Disney was the Christmas Store. Again, I was disappointed by the selection. It wasn't much different from what they had in the store in the Magic Kingdom and I just felt the quality was not the same as it had been on previous trips. I did buy a few ornaments and a Halloween pin.
After that we went to Goofy's Candy Company to create our own treats. DD and I really enjoyed this. I had a gingerbread cookie topped with white chocolate and chocolate chips. She had a marshmallow with white chocolate and sprinkles.
We went in Once Upon a Toy and I sneakily bought a Pirate costume for Duffy that I will give to DD on Halloween. She enjoyed playing in there. We had lunch with our last QS credits at Wolfgang Puck Express. We really enjoyed eating there. You go through the line and order, and then you sit down and they bring you your food, and even come around offering drink refills while you eat. I don't remember what everyone had, but I know I had a very good pizza, I think with goat cheese. I think DD had chicken fingers. I remember the iced tea was delicious, and I think we had ice cream for dessert. We had plenty of fresh good delicious food and we will definitely go here again.
After lunch DD finally got to ride a carousel, since the one in MK was closed!
I had just enough time for a quick trip to the store with all the picture frames and bought one. Then it was time to catch the boat back to POR. We really enjoyed our morning in DTD and I wish we had more time to spend there since we only made it to a few stores and never even got to go in World of Disney! I would also LOVE to go there when it was not so hot out. We really baked waiting on the pier for the boat too.
In case you've been wondering, this is the notorious Violet.
The boat ride was pleasant although DH complained of being hot. I liked seeing the French Quarter as I think this might be on our list of possible resorts for our next stay.
We filled our mugs one last time, turned in our rental stroller, picked up our carry on bags, made a quick stop in the gift shop for a few things I'd had my eye on, took DD to potty and then before we knew it the Magical Express was there.
