Is sharing allowed on MYW Dining Plan?

For example, could you go to Tony's at Magic Kingdom, order appetizer, entree and dessert and split with a child. This would use only one table service credit and (in our case) not leave a bunch of uneaten food.
 
It says in the plan guidelines, that sharing is allowed for child under 3. I agree sometimes there is so much food. You can also pay for the child and not use a credit. Some of the childs meals are only 4.99, so I would pay save credit for character meal. We added dining to ours and I plan on doing this.
