Is seven dwarves worth the hassle?

We only have one day at MK, and are offsite and have had no luck finding fast passes to the seven dwarves mine train. We are going the second week of September. It seems that even with rope drop, there is quite a wait, and lots of stress during the walk to the ride at opening.

Because we only have one day I'm wondering if we should maybe just skip the ride. There are so many other attractions we enjoy. I don't want to waste the first hour or even half hour on a ride that just isn't that great.

It seems like the reviews are not that good.

If you didn't have a fastpass, was it worth the hassle of riding, even at rope drop?

I felt that it was a good ride, but it was pretty quick! My 6 year old LOVED it though. He said it was his favorite ride all week!

We were there on Saturday, and even after rope drop, the lines were very long. Stand by time was 95 minutes most of the day and very long lines for fastpass folks.

We opted to wait and try it when we go back in Sept.

I don't think it will be that short, at RD, unless we arrive super early (like 1 hour before opening). And it is hard to justify riding one ride (unless it is amazing) during the first 30-45 min when I could instead ride 3 or 4 other rides.

Back when the ride opened I did rope drop and waited only 15 minutes for the ride. Yes I woke up early and was there an hour before park opening. Was it insane getting back to the ride? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes kinda. Now would I wait 90 minutes for it? No way. Not worth my time. I say Rope Drop it if you cNt get a FP.

Don't know if you can stay late in the park, but another strategy is to get in line late in the evening like just before Wishes, or late into an EMH evening.

i think this is the key. What an adult considers "worth it" can be far different from a child. whats fascinating about Disney is you never know what small thing will stay in their memory forever and be totally worth it. Obviously if you are a rollercoaster fan and used to big thrill rides and you are not with children, it may not be worth the wait.

I would just keep searching the FP+ reservations to see if one opens up. There is no way everyone who has a FP+ will keep them.

The ride is adorable, I really enjoyed it. But it is also very short, and had I been waiting 70 to 90 minutes to ride. . .I probably wouldn't have found it as adorable or enjoyable.

Totally agree!!

Worth it for me as an adult. NO!

Worth it for my 7 & 8 year olds. YES

They are still talking about it 2 weeks after our vacation.

We rode it twice in June but we had FPs. I don't think it's worth the wait in the stand by queue. Wait til your next visit when the hysteria dies down a bit. Peter Pan's Flight and Mickey's Philharmagic are still my top Fantasyland attractions.

Worth a 30 minute wait tops. It's a good ride, but it's likely the main reason it's so popular has more to do with it's newness than it's quality as an attraction. If it was built 20 years ago (and there probably isn't a reason it couldn't have been) it probably would be less popular than BTMRR today.

Agreed.

We timed the ride at 1 min 15 secs. Probably not 100% accurate.

We did RD with the ride twice by getting to the park an hour before opening. After that it wasn't worth getting up early to do.

We also did Gringotts and that was worth getting to the park 2 hrs before opening.

I have not done it, so you can ignore my opinion if you want. :) We are going in Sept and will be doing it because we have FP+ for it. If we hadn't, then we would do the rope drop rush. Since my trip isn't just me, I would stand in line for it - but it would depend on the kids, as the only reason I'd stand in line is if they really wanted to do it. If it were a trip with just adults, then no. I would not stand in line for it.

There are rides that are worth the hassle for some groups over others - like we will be doing RD for TSM and dealing with that mess just so we can ride TSM twice. I wouldn't do that if I didn't have kids who love that ride though - including one child who refuses to ride most rides.

I highly recommend riding it at night if you decide to ride. The last scene (which I believe is the cutest) was very hard to see in daylight.

Only you could decide if it was worth it or not. :) Don't know until you try.

The sign said 90 minutes. It was right near the end of Wishes. We got in line. It was actually a 60 minute wait. It was worth it for our first ride. We did not choose to do that wait again on our second MK day. We planned to get in line at opening, but the ride was not up and running at 9, so the line was long with no wait time yet posted and just skipped it that day.
