Is Sci-Fi cool and worth going to?

I think it is a cool place to visit. Just be aware that there are a few tables in the back, and one time we were sat there (think uncomfortable outside McDonald's seating) and it stunk to be there instead of in the cars.

LOVE IT!! Best burgers and Milkshakes:worship: :worship:

Our kids love it and request it every trip:cool1: :dance3:

We've been a couple of times. The first time was ok and the food was pretty good. The second time I had to sit next to a speaker(the old kind from drive-ins) mounted on a ledge between some of the booths. It was very loud and the waitress said they had no control on them. It sort of got on my nerves and almost had a panic attack by the end of the meal. I've been hesitant to go back, but if I do, I'll ask if we sit away from the speaker.

I thought it was great!! The theming was amazing. I had low expectations for the food... but it was the same thing you'd expect at a chain sit-down place.

When I checked in I requested a car, and the CM said it was guaranteed if you had a reservation.

We didn't have the dining plan but the other family in our car did, and the waitress told them that the shakes ARE included in the plan as a drink.

The tables in the back looked VERY uncomfortable (round tables with tiny backless seats).

I think our waitress used to work at Prime Time because occasionally she'd slip into the "attitude" they give there :lmao: It was funny.

We were told the same thing. They were telling the few walk-ins that could get in that the cars weren't available, only the back tables.

We were there last week and the Sci Fi has the best cheeseburgers in WDW!!! The other 3 people with me enjoyed their food too.

We went for lunch on May 14th and liked it very much. Here is my review:

SciFi Dine In Lunch - located at DHS. We had a blast!! The girls had raspberry lemonade w/Tink lights. They also split a cheese pizza which came w/veggie sticks and apples. I didn't get a chance to sample the pizza. It was gone before I had the chance to ask. The apples had a yummy brown sugar/granola topping. Actually it was more of a dusting. DH got a cherry coke and the 7 Bean Beef Chili - topped with shredded cheddar, pico de gallo, and tortilla strips, which he absolutely loved. I wasn't crazy about it, but he really like it. I got a vanilla coke and the Angus Chuck Burger - Flame broiled beef patty topped with cheddar cheese, sauteed onions, mushrooms and crispy bacon w/fries. (I shared w/DH) The food was really, really good. My burger was cooked perfectly. It was fresh, hot, moist, and well seasoned. I loved the fries. They were a nice, thick cut. The atmosphere is fantastic although a little loud.

another YES!::yes::
Our kids (4 & 5) loved the atmosphere. And we all enjoyed the food. It was certainly not the best meal in the World. But we had yummy burgers, onions rings and milk shakes. It was a great dining experience. :thumbsup2

We LOVED our visit to Sci-Fi. DS (5 at the time) really liked the ribs. We all liked the onion rings. We had 5 people in our party and we all would go back any time. This was one of the requested restaurants my DH had on his list. The atmosphere is worth seeing. The milkshakes are a MUST!!!

I second the Milkshakes!!

Sitting in the car is the fun part. The movie clips are OK. My flat iron steak stunk! It wasn't very good. But my kids had fun. We will go back and try it again in July.

We went last December with 6 people and everyone loved it. The food was good, not great. We had burgers and shakes, from reading the reviews, we didn't expect much, but it was all pretty good and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was very cool though, that alone is enough reason to go. If you have a big group and want to eat in a car, make reservations as early as possible. We called at the 180 day mark, right at 7:00 AM, and were able to get the last car for a party of 6.

Wait, you can actually request a car when making a reservation? Can anyone else confirm this? I recently made an ADR and didn't even think to do this.

John

Sci-fi was the first WDW me and DH went to, it was out our first visit which was our honeymoon. We stumbled across it and were lucky enough to get a table but not in a car. We enjoyed the food and experience and now it is our tradition to go every visit.

The burgers are great but are only on the lunch menu. The shakes are on the DDP but havent tried one yet (I'm not a huge milk fan).

Take a jumper as it is always arctic in there!

I would say try it out. We went for the first time last year and loved it and it worked out great because we had a party of 4-its something to think about if you hav a odd number of people in your pary because someone may have to sit in the backseat all by themselves. But the food was really good and it was fun to watch old clips hope you try it out and have fun

You can still order them even though they aren't on the menu.

We ADORE the Sci-Fi and it is an absolute must-do on each trip. Sometimes I wish we could do it twice on each trip. The atmosphere is incredible. I used to order the BBQ chicken sandwich but it disappeared off the menu :( . I love the burgers and the onion rings are great. My hubby loves the chili and one of my older DDs love the salads.

First what part of England are you from? The jumper has me thinking your a Brit !! The burghers from what I hear can be ordered at supper if you ask !! I also am not a milk fan but loved the oreo cookie milkshake!!

I called to make ADRs the other day for SCi Fi. I was told that I had to request a car at the podium as they don't do it over the phone. Last time we went there were only 3 of us and we were not allowed to get a car. This time there will be just the two of us so I know we will be at the table again. The only reason we are going again is because DD 9, liked it there so much.

Thank you all so very much for your replies!! :thumbsup2

Now I have a few more questions:

Some pictures I see it shows theplace as being dark with starlight and head lights turned on and sometimes it looks very bright.

So when is it dark and when is it light?

If burgers are only on the lunch menu is it worth going at night?

Can you order the burger Medium Rare? Being in Canada I can only get burger well done.

Does anyone have a picture or review of the Seared Marinated Tofu?

I see talk about a flat iron steak but I only see the Butcher Steak is that the same thing?
