Is room availability on disney website the same for DVC members?

Hi! We have just started the process of buying resale at BLT. I searched for rooms (just for fun) on the Disney World website, and it says there are no rooms available for the days we are hoping to go next fall. Do DVC members have access to different rooms? Or, if the website says no rooms are available, does that apply to everyone, even DVC? Thanks!!!

Rooms at DVC resorts that show up on the Disney booking website are still DVC rooms that for one reason or another have been turned over to Disney for booking by the general public. Typically this happens when points are unused or exchanged and this is referred to as "breakage". The rooms made available are tied directly to the number of points that are "broken" and it usually represents a small fraction of available DVC rooms. Every once and awhile a room will appear available on the Disney booking website even though rooms for points are not available. This is rare and typically happens within 0-60 days of arrival.

So the Disney website doesn't show DVC inventory.
The DVC website doesn't show Disney inventory.
Some DVC inventory not booked yet is transferred to Disney at 60 days prior to check in.
Some DVC inventory is transferred to Disney due to trading activity.

They are not related at all.

When someone from BLT uses their BLT points to book a Disney Cruise for example, the room that that member forgoes (trades for a cruise) is rented out for cash to pay for the cruise. It will be on the main Disney site, but not the DVC site.
Or any other form of exchange for that matter

What is available at a DVC resort through Disney for rental provides no relevant information in relation to what is available to members through the DVC reservation system. and vice versa. More often than not, it is actually the Disney rental resevation system that will have rooms available when DVC reservations are showing full. To answer the question that is within your question, namely what is typical availability of BLT rooms in the fall to members reserving through the member reservation system, see my summary of the 7 month reservation window here, which also has a link to my summary of the 11 month window, https://www.disboards.com/threads/h...been-working-out.3549166/page-2#post-56615436.

This is really interesting - I do wonder how Disney even manages this - our first stay at DVC was a reservation through Disney for a standard studio when we checked in, we got pixie dusted to a 1-BR pool view. We made the reservation 6 months out, so I'm just wondering how they manage the inventory. Like, I get that they'd list a standard studio since it's the smallest # of points and they could more easily put people into 1-BR upon check in, but when does DVC inventory transfer to Disney? Does it happen at multiple times?

Yes. Some of it switches out before 11 months. Some of it switches out at 60 days. Some of it is unbooked either way and they may switch people around a little at room assignment, although that's most common at places like SSR, and rare for points bookings.

DVD is required to own at least 2% of all points at each resort to be used for maintenance or sent over to Disney CRO for cash reservations, if not needed for maintenance.
This room you are "seeing" maybe some of these points converted to a reservation.
