Is renting from an international owner problematic?

I have found what I think is a really nice home in the Rolling Hills Estates section of Formosa Gardens. The rate is really awesome. ($1295 for mid June 2009) My only reservation is that the owner is international (UK). What are your thoughts? It's a 6 BR home with pool.

Is that rate too good to be true and I should be leery of this? I'd share the link for the place but my post count isn't high enough yet. LOL

Of my private home rentals, 2 out of 3 have been from UK owners. They both took rentals in US funds, no problem.

Edited to add: I don't think the rate is too good to be true---the 5BR home I've rented in the past in Windsor Hills is $1260 for the same time period.

I've rented from a few UK owners and had no problems. I usually pay through their management company using a credit card or paypal just because it's easier for me and the last few times were last minute trips and since we were going within 3 weeks had to pay the total amount.
I don't think you'll have any problems. Did you check the owners name with the tax records to verify the ownership. http://www.property-appraiser.org/
Click on Record Search at the left and put in owners name.

No it isn't a problem. I have rented two villas from people from the UK. They are just a email or phone call way. Enjoy your villa.

i would say that 2/3 of the homeowners are from the UK. Doing business in FL, they abide by FL laws. You are fine.

Probably half the rental homes around Disney are owned by Brits.
