Is Reflections back on?

I wouldn’t mind having Reflections back, but I suspect it’s intended as a stockpile for the DVC FW Cabins project. Not only does that involve moving the old cabins out and the new ones in, with various plumbing and electrical items to be disconnected and new installed, there are also unspecified additional improvements to FW included in that project. As always, it’s fun to speculate until Disney is ready to make a public announcement.

Yeah, looks like BrightSunFilms has been there and said they are using it for the Trails End project. At least they finally cleaned the area up.

Interesting nevertheless.

I can't wait to see the new cabins go in! I would be a little surprised if they do Reflections on the heels of so many MK-area points for sale, but what do I know.

I would be super excited if this was true. We were SO looking forward to this resort. I wish they would announce it, though. Considering buying more direct at GF, but will hold off and wait for this project instead if it's true.

Blog Mickey reporting Imagineering has filed extensions on construction permits for the stockpile at the Reflection’s site.

This comes about a week after Touring Plan’s Len Testa said on his Disney Dish podcast that he’s heard from sources it’s not dead.

I listened to that podcast with Len and don't remember him saying anything about Reflections. Do you have a time stamp so I don't have to re-listen to the entire thing?

I wonder if these will happen after the Cabins. Poly 2 seems like it will take a long time to sell, but what do I know...

I learned a while back from someone who would know that they ran into unexpected issues with the ground when they started work and determined they could not build it exactly as planned. I have no idea what the issue was (although I have a pretty good hunch) nor what is the scope or scale of they can build. It wasn’t cancelled solely because of this but it was a contributing factor, along with the pandemic and the slower than expected sales of Riviera.

So will they build a building here? Probably at some point; I think Len has good connections.

Will it be DVC? I’m not sure but sure seems likely if they build it they’ll DVC it.

Will they call it reflections? Maybe.

But will it be what they showed a model of at D23? No. I’m sure the answer is no.

I still have to go with the thought that they will eventually revisit this area, but not as the concept known as Reflections. This permitting seems too soon though, and I agree that it likely is related to the cabins and other new work being completed around Fort Wilderness.

I saw that Florida extended the permits for Reflections. Must be big news

It gives them another 5 years so they could potentially have this on sale once the Poly tower and Fort Wilderness are sold out

The actual Reflections permit doesn't expire until Nov 2024. The permit that was just extended was for the STOLport stockpile site.

Opinion: We wrote this back when this previously was reported... I think they make a lot of assumptions here, and personally, I believe this will just be a staging site for Fort Wilderness Cabins. That doesn't mean I don't think they might eventually revisit the Reflections site, but I don't think this permit should be viewed as any indication of that.
