Is Rainforest Cafe THAT bad?

Having trouble finding an adr for our large party of mostly young adults on our AK day. I will keep trying but assuming I can't get anything else, is it that bad here? We went years ago a few times and thought it was fine but haven't been for at least 8 years. We love Sanaa and Boma but don't want to leave the park to eat.

Your issue is likely your party size. Try breaking the party up

CALL them direct and you can often get what you want.
They only give Disney so many tables to book via MDE.

We enjoy RFC and have never had a bad meal.

Yes. Unless you eat breakfast there, it is gross. I mean I have been to RF Cafe's all over the place and only go because others REALLY want to go. I get drinks in hopes my tongue is numb enough to not taste the food.

That being said, I feel the breakfast is reasonably priced and tasty enough to take my DD8 there on our upcoming trip.

The OP meant "That Bad" as in hard to get an ADR for, not the food or service.

It's a very popular restaurant. I'll say it's not the best, but it's not bad

Call them direct or get a Landry's card. The latter gets you priority seating without an ADR, costs $25 but you get that back with your first order. It is good at a variety of restaurants including yak & yeti in AK and a few others up by universal. We like the food. It's certainly not gourmet but enjoyable.

Sorry, I DID mean is it that bad food wise? I can see how it was confusing. I can get an adr here, but it has such bad reviews....

I really like the Rainforest Cafe. I've had many a lunch at the one by the Animal Kingdom. I totally disagree with the poster who stated the food was bad, I've never had a meal I haven't thoroughly enjoyed.

Just be aware it is loud.

Last couple times we were here yes it was that bad. Barely edible IMO and below the quality you get at a QS restaurant. We have been to RFCs all around the country and even one in London over the years, and the last couple visits to the one at AK were the worst. Im not overly picky about food quality and can happily eat at an Olive Garden while my DH despises those types of chains. But we both agreed we wouldn't be going back to RFC any time soon.

We usually find the food to be okay. But just several days ago we went to the RFC in NJ and had great food. The burgers were fantastic and the other food was very good as well. I’m hoping the food has improved at all locations.

We've only done the one in our local area and it was mediocre at best. Have you considered Yak n Yeti? Much better and higher quality IMO. You can call them directly for a reservation, as they don't release everything to disney. You can also sign up for a Landry's card and get priority seating without an ADR. It costs $25 but you get $25 back right away and another $25 every year on your birthday

We've been there probably 3 times. All to the DS location..food wasn't over the top spectacular, but it was good. Basically it was what I imagine it would be

I have been trying for Yak and Yeti. I can't find their phone number online to book outside WDW.

Since you'll be in AK, I would hands down do Tusker House over anywhere else there.

That's our favorite buffet..we like it better than Crystal Palace and way better than Garden Grill

I would love to get Tusker House or Yak and Yeti. Not having luck with either, that's why I'm getting opinions on RFC.

I really enjoy the Rainforest cafe. It's a lot of fun, the mixed drinks are delicious and the food selection is diverse. The chicken parm never disappointed! And the spinach dip, omg it was so good lol :cutie:
Like stated above, it is loud. But I am a sucker for atmosphere. :lovestruc

It's fine, just not fine dining! I had a chicken sandwich there a few weeks ago and it was good - I was pleasantly surprised
