We have used priceline for hotel rooms in Texas a ton and have always been pleased with our rooms.

What about in the WDW area? Any good deals through them for this area?

Last year we spent 1/2 our trip on-site and 1/2 off-site.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn Orlando South for 5 nights while we did Sea World, US & IOA. (Why pay for Disney hotels when you are not doing Disney?)

The room was very basic, a cold brakfast buffet (cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit) was available and they had a pool.

We were less than 10 minutes drive from US/IOA and Sea World.

Lots of basic chain restaurants were close-by -- Pizza Hut, Denny's, Perkins, etc.

We got the romm on Priceline and paid only $20/night!!!!

Family of 5 roll-a-way bed included.

The money we saved allowed us to do a couple of extras like character meals, etc.

Visit www.biddingfortravel.com . They are a wealth on information We have succeeded with priceline many times - always on a 3*. Stayed at Grosvenor, Hyatt, Renaissance World resort, and the Airport Marriot, all for right around $40. We're trying for a 4 * for our upcoming trip, but no luck yet. (Staying at the low end of the bidding spectrum for 4* $60-$70) We usually combine priceline with a few nights on site.

I've been pleased with Priceline and have used it in many cities, but make sure you do your homework. Look at the web link the previous person posted because it will really help. Also, don't go for a 2 star hotel and expect something really nice, I think 3 and 4 star are really worth it in the Orlando area, just my 2 cents.

I've used Hotwire for my trip last year and I got a room for $21 at the Ramada East Gate, which was very close to WDW. Good thing about Hotwire is you can see the rate before you give your credit card information.

I love priceline! I don't even bother with booking through the hotel unless I absolutely have to, or I just change my dates until I get an accepted bid from PL. I've gotten the Wyndham Spa and Resort on property for $35 and I got the Renaissance Worldgate for $35 also. I've never been disappointed because I'm not shooting for a particular hotel, just a great deal. But, I used biddingfortravel.com for a lot of tips.
