Is Pop Century better then the All Stars?

I have a quick question:

Which value resort do you prefer and why:

I have only stayed at Pop Century and loved it, I am staying again this year. For next year I am thinking about one of the All Stars.

From what I read about these resorts, it seems like Disney improved on the All Stars concept with Pop Century. Am I right about this?

You are going to get a lot of OPINIONS on this. However, in my book a value is a value. I have noticed a lot of comments on this board about how Pop is better. I have seem some say its close to a Mod - I don't think so! I stayed at the POR when I cruised big difference in value and POR.

You can take the theme of Pop and put it on the All-Stars and have the same resort. The room size, layout, category, pricing, and perceived status is all VALUE.

I have stayed at both resorts and I like the theme of the All-Stars Movies better than Pop; however, I am a Disney movie junkie. I have stayed at the All-Star Movies 3 times Aug 00, Aug 02, Jan 05.

I stayed at Pop May 05 and loved the theme of Pop. It was a very nice and very well done! I love the Mickey Soaps at the Pop instead of the soap dispenser. I bring my own soap but its nice to bring a touch of Disney back home with the Mickey soaps.

I think that the All-Stars Movies has a better food selection and better bus service. Then again, I thought both bus services were good and I never waited long for either location. I like going through all 3 movies, music, sports and taking pictures. You don't have to go far to visit all three resorts.

It really depends on the time of year you are going to visit. If you are going anytime during the school year stay at Pop to avoid all of the school groups/cheerleaders, etc. (According to the board - overflow does go to the Pop). If you are going May - Aug stay at All-Stars.

Have a great time when ever you go! You will enjoy either resort! :teeth:

They are the same in terms of "value"....but

Pop isn't all built out--so it is one bus stop making traveling around easier. The all stars share busses for all three resorts (unless they have changed it)--so movies usually gets the "standing room" only.

I like Pop. It's a newer resort and has it's own bus. The All Stars Resorts share a bus and you can have long waits. Other than that, I think it's just a matter of preference as to which theme your family enjoys more.

We prefer ASMo over POP. We waited much longer for our busses at POP. Also, we think the food court at ASMO is better. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

i have stayed at all star sports and POP. i liked pop much better for the same reason as already posted. YOU GET YOUR OWN BUS and the all star resorts are all connected so it seems like there are people everywhere.

Hey--no contest between SPORTS and any other value. We didn't like sports---

We are actually a fan of Movies--but they are last in line for the bus--so we'd take Pop over the Movies.

Last year--Memorial Day weekend...we decided to go to a convention for homeschooling at the Gaylord Palms--Pop was all that was available and we were disappointed. When we arrived--the nostalgia fan that I am LOVED the place. Now if they could just play disco ALL DAY--it would be heaven for me.

This year we are staying at Movies--can't recall if Pop was available or not.

You've pretty much summed up my feelings with your last statement.
I feel that Pop Century did improve upon the All Stars, but it looks like
All Star Movies comes "closest", IMHO, to the improvements vs. Sports
and Music.

Since Pop Century opened, I have not gone back to stay at any of the
All Stars. :cool1: I don't miss them.

I just got back from ASMU with a band trip. I would not have gone here otherwise as I like POP. I think POP is better. Better layout and the food court is bigger and less confined feeling then the one at ASMU. POP also has a newer feel to it and the shampoo dispenser was icky. I like my little bottles of shampoo and bars of soap.
