Is Poly worth the extra cost?

by the time we settled on beach club it's no longer available. So now we have an option to go up in price to poly or go down to CSR or CBR. We were going to be lying $3300 for 7 nights, meal plan and 6 day tickets at BC. Poly will be $3800 and the other two would be $2500

That's $1300 extra from a mod though. Idk if I can justify it to my husband. Maybe if we drop the meal plan and just pay OOP for food. If would only be $2900 then

I'm not downplaying the difference. I get it.
I'll tell you how I justify it-
Proximity and ease to MK.
Proximity to the TTC and easy travel to Epcot.
Dining Options.
The Pool.
The Theme.
Relatively compact and small sized resort.
Seeing the castle and Space Mountain every day from your resort.
Watching the EWP and Wishes

My son and I travel alone, so not dealing with bus stops/buses/long travel to park times were so important to me. I realize all of those above may not be huge selling points to your husband, but maybe a few will. And really it is a great price! That opportunity may not come again.

On the other hand, did you say in the other thread that POFQ is not available? Because that would be my second choice. I'm not a fan of the big spread out resorts.

In all fairness though, I've never stayed at either one you mentioned.. I have stayed at OKW, BC and YC. OKW was way too big for my liking, and I think CSR and CBR are similar in size. Like I said though, I don't have personal experience at either.

$3800 at Poly for 7 nights? Take it!!!! You won't regret it! That's a great deal!

:thumbsup2

If you were originally ok with $3300 for the BC, I don't think an extra $500 is a lot to add for the Poly (just my opinion). We have stayed at all 3 and while we loved everything about CBR and had a nice stay at the BC, I wouldn't hesitate to change to the Poly for $500. Like the pp, I think $3800 is a great deal, especially if that amount includes food and park tickets for 7 nights as it comes to $543/nt, which is an amazing deal, IMO. You can hardly get a room these days at the Poly for that price, so if meals/tickets are included at that cost, I'd grab it now while you can. Good luck!

All of the reasons why we love the Poly and wouldn't hesitate to pay the difference over BC (not to mention the rooms are quite a bit larger and more spacious) :).

Yep!
OP- if your husband is totally against the price difference- maybe cut something else out of your normal budget?
XM radio, Netflix, HBO GO, less Starbucks visits, packing lunch for work instead of Panera?
Nothing major..just some "extras"
I promised myself I would cut back on some of these things for a big Europe trip we have next year. We'll see if I'm able to stick with my plan..lol. I've already implemented the packed lunch plan after reading something on Pinterest ..and it's crazy how much I used to spend! Yay for "found" money!lol

I recommend staying at a less expensive deluxe than the Poly, such as Animal Kingdom Lodge (standard view), or a standard view room at the Yacht Club or Boardwalk. I always recommend staying deluxe if you're staying onsite, but no need to only consider the most expensive deluxe resorts if you're budget-conscious.

If you would be disappointed if the monorail were being maintained and shut down part of your stay, definitely consider that. Happens all the time.

We definitely would be! We will just book moderate and hope I don't hate it. I'm not excited about it at all but $3800 is more than I am comfortable spending

CSR is beautiful and the pool area is a blast with older kids. CBR has an insane children's water play area that is a ton of fun. Both resorts have many fans!

Don't think about it! If you book CBR then just concentrate on being excited for your trip to WDW and that you'll still be staying in a beautiful resort. :)
If you think about Poly BC etc it will impact your stay..just don't think of the comparisons.

All that matters is--

You're Going to Disney World!!!

I am not happy at all. Seriously I really wanted Beach Club, F&W ruined that. I don't even want to go now but DH says we have to since airfare is purchased.

For $500 more! Totally worth it! I'm not really a fan of yacht club or beach club. If you have kids you will be so happy at the Poly!

I know that people rave about BC, but I didn't even consider it for me and my son. I loved it on my adult trips bc of proximity to Epcot during F&W...I think there are a lot of better choices and better themes for kids though.
You can do it another time!
Or maybe even Poly on your next trip.

Either way like I said above, you are going to WDW! And that's EXCITING! Your kids will have fun either way..since you will be saving more money then you originally planned, do a pirates and pals cruise or something. Some kind of special extra :)
