Can anyone comment on the Photo Pass experience. I am considering buying the CD in advance. I'd like to know if you were satisfied with the pictures. I would also like to know if the photographers are easy enough to find, and if you got enough pictures to justify the cost. We will be there the 2nd week of November (hopefully a not too busy time). Thanks!

I’m bumping this up for you as I’ve been contemplating the very same thing!

I think it is. We were not really sure if we wanted to do it, so we didn't preorder. When we saw the photopass people the first couple of days we were there we didn't stop. But when we went to Typhoon Lagoon there was a lady there taking pictures as you come down the big family ride. SHe just handed me the card without asking, so I took it. I was glad later that we did it. There was a total of 21 of us in the group, so it was cool to have the classic pictures of all of us together. And the cute ones of the kids being goofy!!. They took some really good pictures of my kids at the water parks. That was cool since we didn't have our camera with us. It was also good because there was no one left out of the pictures!! There are lots of photopass people around!!! We ended up with about 300 pictures.

So to sum it up. Yes it would be worth it to order it!! IMO

IMHO, no, its not.

We did not buy one before we went, and I was afraid we would regret it.

But we got back last week, and after having several photos taken by the photopass photogs, I was anxious to view them on line.

Let me start out by saying they are hard to find in all of the parks. You can always find one in front of the castle on Main St. One when you first enter HS. Thats were it ends. We did find one in Epcot before the World Showcase , and he had a line a mile long for people waiting for him.

Next thing I would say is when we got home, and pulled up all of our pictures, (maybe 30) they werent that good. We had some taken with my DS and Darth Vader that are so dark you cant even make them out, I took some with my own camera TG and they came out perfect.

I was not pleased with the pictures at all, if I had paid over $100 for the cd I would have been pretty mad. :furious:

I think if you can join one of the Photopass swaps on the boards, it would be worth it, otherwise, unless you want to try to hunt these photogs down, and wait in lines, I say dont do it.

Just my 2cents

This is exactly what I was thinking about doing with others who will be on my DCL cruise the week after I go. There are several of us heading to the World in addtion to the sea, so I'm certain we can make our own swaps.

I thought it was completely worth it!

Had it not been for photopass, I would not have any pictures of me and DD together. I am single, so my only travel companion is my 3 year old DD. No way (except to ask complete strangers who probably don't want to be bothered) to get pictures of me with DD without photopass.

Some of the pictures are "ok". Some came out great!

We had no problems finding CM to take pics at any of the parks.

Plus.......knowing that I had already pre-paid for the pics, it made me more determined to get the pictures taken. I think we ended up with about 200 pics.

And you own the copyright, so you can just have the pictures printed up very inexpensively.

You can ask the photopass photog to take a picture with your camera after they take the one for the photopass. That way you can still have the pictures of you and your DD. Just a thought.

You can always buy any pictures you like when you get home. Out of the pictures they took, there is only one we would consider buying.

I think that it is really worth it if you plan on taking a lot of pics with characters. In almost all cases there was a photopass photographer with the character. They didn't just take the standard everyone line up pic but snapped away as the kids interacted with the character- hugs, close ups of the little ones excited face, etc...

We had a Grand Gathering so had a large group to split the cost with. If I'd paid the entire amount, I might have a different opinion but I don't think so.

In the event anybody else is still wondering, I wanted to respond.

We did this in December and thought it was totally worth it. We watched the Photopass site and as soon as there was a discount, we pre-ordered. We recieved 25% off.

If you do not activate the code, you have a money back guarantee. We had 455 pictures, so it was no problem.

When we went in December of last year, we did buy the Photopass CD-- it was great, and we had a lot of pictures-- some of which are my favorites we have from WDW.

We didn't bother with the Photopass CD for our trip in June last month. It just didn't seem like there were as many Photopass photographers out last month than there have been in the past, so the CD wasn't worth it. (Cost cutting, perhaps-- or maybe they just can't hire enough people, as I see the Photopass position posted quite regularly on job search sites.)

Where is the website that has the info on the photopasses. I am not sure if I'll buy it but I would like to check it out. Also am I understanding you correctly...even if I don't puchase the pass I may be able to view and purchase pictures taken in the parks by the photgrafers....or did I mis read you guys comepletely.
FYI: I am new to all things Disney so I am clueless to how all this works.

Does anyone know if you can put more than one photopass card on the cd? I'm traveling with a group in Sept and we probably won't always be together, it would be great if we could put our various photopasses on the cd...
