Is Peter Pan's Flight worth the long wait?

No. But then I don't think any ride in WDW is worth a long wait.

So, either don't see it, wait in line, or make rope drop and ride this second after Dumbo.

I would not wait 45 minutes for it, but I am a thrill ride person. I also am a RD person and FP person and would not wait 45 minutes for any ride :rotfl2:. (and we go at Winter Break)

Cant you grab a fastpass just before lunchtime and then eat somewhere nearby, then maybe shop a few minutes and then before you know it it will be time to get your ride.

When did this ride get so popular?!?!? When we went down in the 70's and 80's this was practically a walk-on ride most of the time. When we went in '95 the line was there, but short, maybe 1/2 hour at the most. Was I surprised when we went in '07 and this was one of the longest lines in Fantasyland!

When did this happen?

I was as stumped as you when we took our trip in 2006. I'd been riding that ride for 30 years without a problem! The only thing I can think of is that pirates and fairies in general have become extremely popular and this ride has both.

I would say yes since you have never been on the ride. It is classic Disney and there isn't another ride like it. The scenes from Peter Pan are cute - I love seeing nana barking and then flying over London. It is a ride that needs to be enjoyed at least once. We ride it every trip but usually get a fast pass. I know you say you don't like to go back but you could get a fastpass, ride It's a small world, haunted mansion, see philharmagic and then go back to Peter Pan. :thumbsup2

Peter Pan is classic Disney and while it is not a high-tech thriller, it is a must see if for nothing else than the nostalgia. We ride it several times every visit and never wait 45 minutes. Of course, then again, we are not "spontaneous."

If you want to see and experience all that Disney has to offer the recipe looks something like this, rope drop + FP + lots of planning = least wait times.

I absolutely love it. It just says "Disney" to me. I have been known to wait for 30 minutes (unheard of for me) to ride this one.

I like it. My DD7 likes it. The time she opted to wait in a "posted as 45 minute, actual wait every bit of 45 minutes" line, rather than getting a FP and coming back, it pretty much cured her of the desire to be "spontaneous."

I honestly think demand was created for PP by making it a fp attraction. That said, I woudl not wait 45 minutes for it. However, we do often ride it using a fastpass. Since it's fairly centrally located, it makes sense to fp it.

It is one attraction that continues to have along line even late into the evening. Many of the attractions that are equally good - or even better - really decrease wait times after dark. Maybe one reason is that it is not far off the hub - again location. It's easy to hop over to PP after the fireworks. Meanwhile, Splash seems like it's in a far distant corner of the park. And it is.

It's all a matter of taste. Personally, I love the ride. It's not high tec or anything- it's just a nostalgic look back at a classic ride. I try to get on at least once during our trips. Like many of the other posters have mentioned, it's continuious, so the wait honestly doesn't feel that long at all.

My kids are not Peter Pan fanatics. They've seen it a few times and they LOVE the Peter Pan ride. It was one of the few rides they asked to ride again. I would fastpass it or wait once for the 45 minutes. It's a great Disney ride! :thumbsup2

It was the first ride we took the kids on when we first took them 20 years ago, so evokes special memories. There is just something almost intangible about the ride, as someone said, it's old school Disney.

When we get to the MK at rope drop we always head over to Peter Pan and go on it a few times before there is any wait This always seems to work, at least for us, so that would be my suggestion. As much as I love the ride I would never wait 45 minutes for it!

No, I wouldn't ride it again unless the wait was 20 min or under, or if I had a FP

My DD loves it, but I frequently pass it as I tell her I'm not waiting for 45min in line. Depending on our situation at the time, we may get a FP, or I'll convince her to do something else.

This is really a personal choice. Many people adore this attraction, but personally I've never seen what the big deal is. (I'm also not a big fan of the movie.) I won't wait longer than 10 minutes for it, but that's just my opinion. Since you've never been on it, I would ride as soon as the park opens or use fastpass. Then you'll have your own personal answer. :goodvibes

This is one of our must-dos but we always grab fastpass or ride it early. It's so old school Disney and has a sweet simplicity to it. I like it the best of all the rides in Fantasyland.

It's always our first ride of the day since we are rope-droppers who don't do Dumbo. It really is a *stone Disney classic* (loved that, Micca ;)) and simply must be experienced by a true Disney lover!

I know you said you aren't the rope-drop type, but may I suggest that you hit MK at opening just once on your next trip? You might be converted, it's so awesome!!!!!! I mean AWESOME!

I think Peter Pan is a classic that everyone needs to try at least once.

However, I would never wait 45 minutes for it. But I won't wait that long for anything at Disney. Try getting a Fastpass or going in the first hour the park is open.

no. not worth any wait over 20 minutes (although it is a "classic")
we used to do it in the morning on early entry days. now hubby can't see dark rides if we are coming in from the sun, so we do dark rides (pirates, haunted mansion, etc) at night. peter pan just isn't worth the wiat and hate to waste a fast pass on it.
