We are a peanut butterless house right now. The only kind DH and the kids will eat is the HONEY ROASTED Peter Pan.....I have yet to find any other brand that does the honey roasted. Until I can find this type, no peanut butter for us.

JIF does... that's what I bought instead. Don't bother. It is not nearly as good.

I will look again.....We have looked at Wal-Mart, Krogers, Meijers, Scotts (local supermarket chain), KMart, and Target. None of them carry any brand of pb that is honey roasted, excpet for when they had Peter Pan.

Speaking of Peter Pan, I had two cans (toucans) of the offending batch number in my pantry - nearly empty but no dead kids. If there's none on the the shelves, how are people getting their replacement pb? I read something about returning the bad pb to the company, but I'm not paying $10 to get $5 worth of peanut butter.

I took our 2 jars back to Publix and they gave me a refund. No biggie. I then bought Jif, which is NOT as good!

Try Smart Balance peanut butter, that way you are elimating the trans fats! It really is good, I don't miss "regular" peanut butter at all.

HMM...skippy has no trans fat also...but if I.m not misstaken arent all peanut Butters non trans fat...they have saturated fats yes but no trans fats...???

Also Smart Balance butter/margarine is great!!! have been using it for years and tastes like butter and my kids love it

The nutrition labels state 0% percent trans fats, however the FDA allows companies to claim zero trans fats even when the product still contains trans fats, up to 0.5 grams per serving. If you read the ingredients list on Jif, et. al. partially hydrogenated oils are listed. So there are still trans fats in the product.

Skippy also has a honey roasted, creamy is in an orange container and crunchy is in a red container. The creamy is easier to find in my area. It's my favorite, although I'll admit I haven't tried any others.

Yes you are right and I stand corrected....I did know that and did not even think of it... I always look at labels to see what is in it and if it shows on bothe ingrediants and what is in each serving...

They need to change that..I know that they have been talking about better labeling but need to put down no matter what the amount that it is in there becasue it is very deceving

My DH has a fatty liver so we are careful about Transfats...he does not eat peanut butter but my kids do. Cookies seem to be the worse when it comes to TF...I have a list of % of breads, milk, cookies, and such and just about everything has some TF in it
