Is paying extra for concierge worth it?

I go down to WDW at least two times a year and try to stay at a different resort each time (Poly this time :teeth: ), but have never done a concierge room.

I was just wondering if any one who has done it thinks it is worth the extra money? I don't have any opinion but maybe next time I may splurge!!!

It depends... I know it's not the answer you want to hear, but it depends on the resort you choose and whether you'd be able to actually use the services and the lounge. Yes, it's nice to eat the breakfast (continental) and get the snacks and beverages during the day, but if you're not in the resort to enjoy them, then it's not worth it. Also, if you like to make your own PS's and planning, then the concierge will not be of much use to you. And some resorts concierge are better than others. For example, I loved AKL's concierge but did not like WL's at all. Plus, lately, I've been reading about diminished services/food offerings at some of the concierges and less than stellar service, so I would think twice about spending so much money for something I might not take full advantage of... Some people would not stay anywhere but concierge... others would like to use the money on other things... so, basically, it depends on your vacationing style and whether concierge is something that you would use without feeling too guilty about it.

We stayed Poly concierge this past December and it was totally worth it to us. We had breakfast in the lounge a couple of times, never used mid day service and did enjoy the nightly offerings several times. Mostly it was just great to relax in the lounge and watch the boat parade and Wishes. It was nice to relax in the evening chatting with people and enjoying a little wine.

My dh (who doesn't love to spend on frivilous things) absolutely loved it as well as my three sons.

We are stayng at AKL Concierge for the first time in Aug. I have AP rate of $401 inc. tx. I'm not so comfortable with it. I like doing my own planning and enjoying going to the parks every day. This extra money does not seem worth it for us. We decided to try it for 2 nights only. Hang out at the resot for those two days and do the SR saf on the last day. After the saf. we will check back in to std rooms for going to the parks. We may leave AKL and go to BC or Poly not sure yet.
