Is parking free if staying at the DLH?

You pay the same rate for parking at the onsite hotels daily that you are charged for the theme park. I believe it is $17/day now.

As said, hotel parking is $17 a night unless you valet. Then it is slightly more.

Wait :lmao: Did you just ask if something was free at Disney? :rotfl2:

Self Parking ($17 per day)
Is FREE for anyone ( owner OR renter ) staying on Disney Vacation Club points either the villas @ Grand California or any of the DLR Hotels! ;)

Valet is $25 per car, per night. Self-parking is $17 per night, but you can park up to 2 cars for that price.

While $17/night might sound like the same price as parking at the parks, it's not. In the parks, it costs $17 per DAY, and at the hotel, it's $17/NIGHT. So if you arrive at the hotel on Day 1, park your car for Night 1, then pick up your car and leave at the end of Day 2 of your trip...you will have paid $17 even though you were in the parks for two days. If you are staying off site and drive to the parks on Day 1, then leave at night and come back for Day 2...you will pay $17 each day. So, in that case, parking costs you double vs. the onsite hotel.

Downtown Disney specific parking is free for three hours (or up to five hours with validation). But if you go over they charge and the rates are punitive ($6/hour up to $30) to keep people from trying to use them for theme park parking.

:rotfl: In Proud Canadian's defense, if they happen to be a WDW vet, this is a shocker. At WDW, if you are a resort guest you do not pay for parking at the resort and you can also park free at any of the parks while you are there. As a WDW vet, this one really threw me the first time we stayed at DLH. Not only are the prices at DLH higher than we pay for our trips for the deluxe resort hotels at WDW (WDW offers more and better discounts), but then after about choking at the fact it costs the same for us to spend 4 nights at DLH as it does for us to spend a week at WDW, we get there and they tack on an expensive per night parking fee? :scared1::scared1::scared1: We love DL and WDW, but that is one of the the things about DL that we dislike immensely. It makes me cringe every time!

Is it really that shocking to pay for parking in a place where it's in high demand? I can park for free at NYNY in Vegas, but I don't go to a hotel in NYC and compare the parking situation to Vegas.

Maybe it's because I'm used to hotel parking fees in downtown hotels, but I always check when making a reservation if there's a parking fee.
