I know the food is great, but on the four day, is it worth the hassle? My DH and I were trying to guess schedules last night, which restaurant to skip, don't want to miss Disney Dreams with the kids, deck parties...it just all seems to much.

So, is the food worth the potential scheduling stress???

The food is outstanding. I think it's worth the effort to get reservations. I also think that the stress generated is unnecessary. I've always said that people spend too much effort worrying about which night to eat at Palo and what they might miss. Palo is better than any of the restaurants, so pick a night and go. I used to stress about this, too until my birthday fell during one of our cruises. I wanted to eat at Palo that night. Once that decision was made, I stopped worrying about what else might be going on at the same time. I missed Tropical night in the dining room, but I had a great meal at Palo. Since then, we've just decided on a night and booked it. There's still plenty to do when dinner's over.

The whole cruise is full of situations where if you choose to do one thing, there is something else going on that would also be fun. Once you accept that you can't possibly do everything, it gets easier to plan.

As Señor Ferrari mentioned it is a nice restaurant. You did not mention when you will get to port. If you are early you should have everything done, ressies and unpacked before the drill and the deck party.

As for the night, a suggestion that I saw here and followed was to "double dip". We had the late dinner sitting. We went to Palo early, and enjoyed the sunset during dinner. Then we got the kids and went to dinner, well the kids had dinner and we had more coffee and a sample of an appertizer.

Hope this helps

Just back yesterday, had Palo on the 4 day on the last night .
Saw Disney Dreams with my kids for the matinee show the last day .

Yes, Yes, Yes, IT IS WORTH IT

DONT MISS PALO, Any night you can go , go .
It is better than any of the others by far.
In my humble opinion of course.

Enjoy

It's soooooo worth it....Anyway, since you are going on 4-night, you will have a second dinner scheduled at one of the rotation restaurants. When you get your KTTW card upon embarkation, you will find out your rotation...perhaps you should reserve Palo for the repeat night?

YES!!!YES!!!!YES!!!! It is absolutely worth every hassle. We have been on 6 disney cruises and NEVER miss it. Even on the 3 night cruise!:p

Good plan. We will just have to miss a second night at one of the restaurants. DH and I can go early to Palo, then just show up to dinner with the kids at the regular rotation restaurant. Since they are older, they won't mind. Which restaurant would most of you forego a second night?

YES! It would be worth missing ALL THREE restaurants to eat once at Palo! So just missing one is an incredible bargain.

I wholeheartedly, I think that is a word, agree with everyone else. This past March was our first cruise and we did dinner at Palo one night and the Brunch also. It was well worth it, and the Chocolate Souffle was outstanding!! You should go, you will be glad you did. Oh, I can taste the sauce on the souffle now!! Yum! Yum!

Any of them!!!! But, seriously, that would be a personal preference. My first night to skip would be a second night at Animators Palate. The draw there is the turning colors... That is on the first nights rotation only... Then I would skip a second night at Tritons. I would want to go to Parrot Key for at least one supper. It sounds like fun! (Though some also mention that PC can be loud!!!)

PS: I would not miss PALO... part of the anticipation of this whole cruise is a quiet adult dinner for DH and I. Plus, on a Disney cruise packed with kids in all the restaurants - I feel this may be a wonderful respite!

A bunch of you keep referring to Disney Dreams. for a first time cruiser (booked for 11-03), what is Disney Dreams and how will I know when it takes place? Or do I just book Paolo and take my chances. My husband and I were thinkin of booking the 3rd night (we taking the 4 night with 3 days at Disney). that way our girls will have a chance to get used to the kids clubs and hopefully will want to eat dinner with them. We have the early seating, so I don't think double dipping will work for us.

"Disney Dreams" is one of the stage shows in the main theatre on board. For Disney fans, it's a can't miss. You'll know when it will be show, as it will be listed on the front page of that day's Navigator. I think the shows are at 6:30 and 8:30, but they often show a matinee, too.

I'd have to say that I'd miss any of the other retaurants to eat at Palo and don't forget--it is one time on a Disney cruise that kids aren't allowed to go with you and it really is a great date place in my opinion...the views, the food, the chocolate souffle, the decor--it's just so worth it!! And to boot-it's a date night to remember. Have fun--MJ

I would say yes it is worth it.
But I am a parent of 2 and DH and I get precious little chance to "fine dine" as it were. We both loved Palo. That being said would not have felt that I missed out on anything if it didn't work out. The restaurants are all very nice too. I felt as though the ressie scramble was a bit much, and I did not think the shows were heart stopping. My personal opinion I would miss any show or restaurant for a lovely quiet romantic dinner with my DH. (By the way we did 7 day cruise).
