Is Pal Mickey a good investment?

I am traveling to Disney World on April 1st with my 2 and a half year old dd and 8 month old ds...will the 2 1/2 year old like the mickey? Is it worth the money? She's smart and outgoing for her age (yeah, I know everyone thinks that about their own kids). Did anyone get one before they went?

I posted a thread a few weeks ago asking people about whether they would buy it again or not and found the results varied. We chose not to get one as we were only going to Magic Kingdom on one day and no other parks so didn't think it was worth it. I don't know how to post the thread I started but am sure if you did a search you would find it.

Hope that helps

Is PAL only good to use in the MK? I thought you could use it all over WDW

I have heard only good things about pal mickey. I'm thinking about buying one when I get there March 5. I like to have as much information about a park and pal mickey will fill you right in. :earsboy:

Pal Mickey works at all the parks but we were only going to one park (MK) so didn't think it was worth it.

I'v read mixed things about him. I'v heard he's hard to hear,as the parks are very loud. Also heard and would tend to think we'd feel the same way, after awhile, people were tired of lugging him around. He's not heavy, but if your like most, you'll either have a back-pack,or a fanny bag, kids, cameras, etc. To me,I don't want ONE more thing to lug around,so he's not something we would be interested in. :guilty:

We had one for our 2.25 year old in December 2004. Mickey came into the parks with us for about a day and a half, and then we were sick of him. He was just one more thing to carry around and take on rides, and although he is compact, he is quite heavy. DS wasn't too terribly interested in the talking part of Pal Mickey, especially when there was so much else going on in the parks. For a 2.5 year old, I'd vote to skip it and spend your money elsewhere!

My cousins (8 and 6) loved pal Mickey so much. He gave great tips about where the characters would be so we would be first in line. Plus, the character's love posing with Mickey.
What I enjoyed the most was the games that Mickey has, I believe a trivia game as well as jokes. These games made the long lines go by so fast for the rides.
