Is optional paid Mousekeeping coming back?

Just saw this article about Mousekeeping at some WDW resorts coming back to the old pre-pandemic schedule. It also says that "Disney Vacation Club members can purchase additional cleaning services." Has anyone heard anything about this option coming back? (the option to pay extra for daily Mousekeeping) Or perhaps the author of this article is just misinformed? Thanks.

I'm staying at DVC, paying; and not a DVC member. Will housekeeping still come every other day or will they consider me a DVC member because I'm staying there? Since I am paying for a DVC place, I'd like to get housekeeping at least every other day if possible. I know I can call for supplies, so that's good to know. TYIA

They usually empty the trash every few days and some times leave new towels, but that is about it.

I just got back from 8 nights at SSR. Oh they'll worry the crap out of you over the 'trash,' but on day 6 I finally asked for a towel refresh. They didn't complain, don't get me wrong. Do they not do towels on Day 4 of a week-long trip anymore or did they stop during the pandemic?

If you are booked as a cash guest vis Disney, you will get the same service as all cash guests.

If you rented a points based reservation from an owner, then it will follow DVC rules.

You should have been given trash and towel day 4.

What does this mean "worry the crap out of you over the trash"? Meaning they want me to put it out or don't put it out?

I'm a cash guest. Didn't rent points from anyone.

Then you will follow the terms of a cash guest in terms of housekeeping, so you should get it every other day since that is what I believe cash guests are given.

It also means if you have a car, there will be a parking fee each night…unless you are a DVC owner...then it’s free.

Thank you. I think I'd rather no housekeeping than a parking fee. lol I'm renting a car this time since ME is gone and we want to have more freedom with the car. BUT, I thought there was no parking fee for anyone staying on-property?

Doesn't matter whether you put it out or not. They're coming in your room every day. And it has little to nothing to do with trash.

Parking at the parks is still free to all onsite guests. But, all resoets charge an overnight parking few now.

DVC owners staying at DVC resorts don’t pay it because it’s part of the annual fees we pay. I believe it’s $25/night at the deluxe resorts.

Okay I understand now. It was the parks I was thinking of then. Thank you.

Am I the only one that goes to a hotel and DOES NOT WANT house keeping in my room every day or even every other day.
Fresh towel Sure great please leave them out side the door... But I travel for a living and if we are someplace less than for days I'm really ok.
At one point in my membership, I was completely on board with no housekeeping.
As the years past, I changed mindset. I’m on vacation, and it feels great to have my bed made, and room spruced.
I don’t make my bed at home, but that’s the difference… I want to feel like I’m on vacation, and not home to the daily grind.

Personally, I don't mind this. Especially with two teenage daughters. Our trash can build up very quickly and I like the daily emptying of the trash.

With you 100%. Our housekeeper comes in once a week (a leftover luxury we started out of necessity years ago with kids and two working parents, that we just can't let go of). A simple joy for me is coming home every Wednesday to a clean house with fresh linens on the bed that I didn't have to change. I'll take that every day on vacation.
